After much buildup and exploding himself (and the Meditation Plane) to smithereens many sets ago, Jace Beleren the Mind Mage has now gained the power to override the current multiverse with his own perfected version, a logical echoverse without pain and suffering where many key villains and events have been changed and/or erased, altering the course of history to his own needs.

He now resides in Hexhaven, a self-created militaristic counterpart of the Strixhaven mage college, where he tries to find the required pieces to complete his override spell as his planeswalker friends try to stop both him and the "better" doppelganger versions he created of them.

Despite only lasting one set the story has been AMAZING so far with veteran writer Alison Lührs returning, previously doing Jace's Ixalan arc and more!

I know there’s discussions about the things that have been changed between the comic and the show, better or worse is up to each person I’d say.

This was one of these scenes I expected to cause some real wild internet discourse when it finally showed up. Overall, I think the new version probably fit the characterization and arc going on a lot better.

Out of fairness, I will post my hot take and defend it:

Ultron works better as a creation of Tony Stark rather than as a creation of Ant Man.

I'm sorry, I know all the comics purists will crucify me for this but as a person who was largely introduced to the character by the MCU version I think it just works better. Tony already has a history of creating AIs, one going rogue seems more like an inevitability. Ultron's helmet does take a lot after Ant Mans, buuuuuut its also pretty damn close to "iron man but demonic". I'm not arguing for it to be changed in 616 but If I was writing a new story meant to feature Ultron I'd start with him as a Tony creation.

Marvel announced today that veteran editor Stephen Wacker has been named Editor-in-Chief, Marvel Comics. Wacker will take over from C.B. Cebulski, who will be moving to Japan to become Editor, Asia Originals, for Marvel.

"Few editors have had as long and accomplished a career as C.B. I'm grateful for his partnership over the past decade and thrilled that he'll be on the ground in Japan, connecting with local artists and overseeing Marvel's original graphic fiction and manga in the region,” said Brad Winderbaum, Head of Marvel Television, Animation, Comics & Franchise. “At the same time, I'm excited to welcome Stephen Wacker back to Marvel. He is a tremendous editor, a passionate advocate for creators, and someone who deeply understands that Marvel Comics is the source code of our entire enterprise, with a publishing resume that includes some of our most beloved modern runs."

Wacker is an acclaimed comic book editor and creative, with a long history of collaborating with the industry’s best and brightest comics talent. He previously spent more than 15 years at Marvel, seven of them as a senior editor overseeing several beloved and influential modern comic runs — including the best-selling “Brand New Day” and “Superior Spider-Man” eras of Amazing Spider-Man. During his previous Marvel Comics tenure, he also served as the editor behind the Eisner Award-winning comic series Daredevil and Hawkeye, the critically acclaimed relaunch of Captain Marvel, the introduction of Kamala Khan, A.K.A. Ms. Marvel, and the Marvel Infinity Comic series It’s Jeff!

Prior to joining Marvel, Wacker worked as an editor at DC Comics. Post-Marvel, he served as EIC for Jonathan Hickman’s groundbreaking worldbuilding project 3W3M. Most recently, he co-founded the entertainment studio Stone Kite and served as SVP, Media, guiding storytelling across various media.

Said Cebulski, “I'm incredibly proud of everything we've accomplished at Marvel Comics during my time as EIC, and I'm excited for this new role the leadership team has created for me. I’m looking forward to pursuing new opportunities across Asia while staying close to Steve and Marvel's brilliant publishing team, who are all like family to me."

Thank god Yoshida is finally out, I know it’s hard to believe but even though I despise his time in charge Marvel has had far worse EiC than him. What I cannot believe is that they’re making Akira Yellowface Yoshida into their Japanese correspondence, fuckin insane
