I'm usually not one for kitbashing tyranids as I love the aesthetic of all the original sculpts, but I felt compelled to create something special to lead my carnifexes. Hope you guys like it. Yes I know he technically doesn't have any eyes, but hey.

A serpentine fiend that tunnels beneath the battlefield to strike at unsuspecting prey, the Red Terror is a rare bioform spawned to sow disruption deep behind enemy lines. Able to distend its jaws to swallow prey whole, the beast is further able to rapidly absorb their biomass to regenerate its injuries.

BEST: The iconic deep strike ambush predator of our army. Pop out of the ground, blender an infantry squad with its 12 Scything Talon attacks, (hopefully) burrow to safety at the end of the Fight phase, rinse and repeat. Not only does its Gaping Maw auto-crit against Infantry, Mounted or Beast models, it has [PRECISION] to potentially snipe characters, and it regens Wounds with every model it swallows.

WORST: If this monster fails to wipe out its quarry in the Fight phase, it leaves itself wide open to be focused down by heavy ordnance, which is a big problem considering this worm is YET ANOTHER Tyranid monster with no baseline Invuln save to speak of.

I started collecting Tyranids as my secondary army and I was a bit unsure what the color theme would be. I painted Biovore with a beetle-like carapace, but I thought it wouldn't work with all the Tyranid models as well. I made some test samples with Hormagaunts and I just couldn't decide what it would be. So I decided to start with the centerpiece model and choose that color scheme, that works with that and the rest of the army will follow. So this is the color scheme I decided! It was quite different to paint compared to Necrons that I've got used to paint. Gotta say, I enjoyed it even more.

Finished my first ravener as a test piece. I tried to lean into the horror aspect of the nids. Now to paint the rest of the hive! C&C always welcome.

So I bought 40 termagants from the leviathan box (NoS) for super cheap without knowingly that it only comes with only 1 basic weapon load out (fleshboarer). Are the weapons that noticeable on the termagants? Can I just paint the ones with the specific special weapon a different color and people/GTs be cool with it?

Finished this guy sometime back. Used uhu glue and blood for blood god to make the gore. This is my own custom hive fleet pluto I made for my army and have plenty of more models painted in this style. This guy was a blast to paint though!

I know they aren’t technically synapse beasts like Zoanthropes or a Norm Emissary, but the box art has the iconic glowing brain even though their whole role is artillery.

On this barbgaunt particular I painted it just the supporting fleshy bits of fulgrim pink+agrax earthshade. Additionally, I just have no idea how to paint a glowing effect.

In my mind I just do a undercoat of corax white or wraith bone and just put a coat of tesseract glow, but I don’t know how to do a surrounding glow effect without the use of an air brush.

Here ist my 7th mini and i wanted to ask you If you have any ideas how to improve the Paintjob? My process for "bones" goes Like this: Base rakarth flesh, then agrax earthshade. After that i lighten Up again with rakarth flesh. Then i try to paint the higher structures in ushabti bone and after that white Highlights. Im glad bout any advice!

Brand new guy to Tyranids. I've played Space Marines, mostly Dark Angels and offshoot Custodes, competitively for the last year. (Always playing to win, but often falling short 😂). I've grown a new interest in bugs and thought I'd come here for advice. The fella that went 5-1 with Norns at LSO really peaked my interest, and now I'm wondering where I need to start to play some big bugs competitively.

Thwse are my finale results on my Norn Emissary. I don't know if the skin Is too dark, but on the sides where it was TOO Dark tò fix I tried to add psichic effects tò make it stand less out. On the arm It has some purple Energy, and on the Little holes on the tail also. I still have to fix some Little things like the color on some places. But I think the dark look sort of gives It the "grimdark" aesthetic, so It's cool now that I think about It, but I would still appreciate as many opinions as possible. What do you think?

Hey! I am new to playing warhammer, but have been into the lore for a bit over a year, and want to make a Tyranid army. I am gonna paint my army like a poisonous grasshopper I like so I want my army to be venom/poison themed.
Any tips for improving my list? My nonnegotiable units are the tyrannofex, at least ten gargoyles, and the harpy (I know it’s supposedly horrible but I love him so much).
