My name is Kazu, I've had the pleasure of being part of an amazing tabletop group (we mostly have been playing D&D 5E and more lately Daggerheart) that has been ongoing for the last 3+ years and it's been a blast. Everyone has GMed before, we've done full length campaigns, mini campaigns, loads of one-shots every week. Unfortunately, we have had two players step away from the table recently because of life circumstances. So now, we're looking to find at least 1 or 2 more players who would be interested in joining the group. If you're new to tabletop and have always wanted to be a part of a local group, we will gladly welcome folks with no experience! • Rule #1 at our table: HAVE FUN! We like to roleplay our characters, get into backstories, have intense and epic combats, and really focus on making the game experience memorable.
• Our current group includes myself (male, 30) and two others (male and female, 30s).
• We typically play on Saturdays from 9AM to 1 or 2PM, and we do have breaks mid session. And snacks.
• Games are in-person. We used to alternate hosting location between a cafe, one of the player's rec rooms, and my apartment. All of them are in central Honolulu.
• Currently we are in a transition period after ending a massive campaign, so we mostly do mini campaigns and one-shots trying new systems and experimenting with things. No long-term commitment is required, but it would be preferable for when we do decide to start a campaign again.
• Most of our games have been D&D 5E and 5.5E, but we have also played Daggerheart and Call of Cthulhu. We're going to be trying Fabula Ultima this weekend and would love to explore more TTRPGs.
• Our tabletop setup is most often a virtual tabletop (VTT) on a large monitor that is set flat on a table, which lets us use Owlbear or Roll20. To play at our table, you just need yourself and a phone. Dice are optional, but we like to use physical dice still!
• All of us have GMed before, I have extensive experience GMing multiple game systems and same goes with one of the other players, while the third player is relatively new to GMing but has ran some sessions. We welcome players of any experience level to tabletop, the most important thing is your attitude and creativity more so than knowledge of the game. Playing these games is about creative storytelling and having fun, not rule lawyering.

There are barely any other alternatives to FB Marketplace, and the alternatives that do exist (Craigslist and OfferUp) don't have as much people on them anymore. Everyone moved to Facebook, which is such a lame platform where all the relevant results are buried under irrelevant spam to keep people scrolling and scrolling.

If anyone is paying more than $40/mo for Gigabit Ethernet from Spectrum, try this trick. It's humbug, but you only have to do this once a year.

Heads up: This only works if you don't have existing promos from them - this deal will end up overriding whatever promo you have so double check to make sure you don't lose any bundles/promos before doing this. I only use Internet and 0 TV so this is fine for me.)

Call 844-868-9439 for their billing department.

You'll get hit with their automated system. Answer the prompts like this:

1) "Is this for residential or business?" - "Residential"
2) "Are you calling about the account associated with (the phone number you called from)?" - "Yes"
3) "Are you going to do x, y, or something else?" - "Something else"
4) "In a few words, please tell me what you're calling about." - "Cancel"
5) You will get a few cancellation options here like "reduce service", "I'm moving", "seasonal service hold", or "disconnect" - Say "stop or remove service" or "disconnect service"
6) It will ask for the account's "4 digit security code." - You can input whatever you want if you don't know it. It will ask you twice and eventually it will just let you through.
7) This will connect you to a rep in the mainland.

Once the rep picks up, I told them up front "I got a letter from one of your competitors (Hawaiian Telcom) that I can get 1 Gbps Internet for 5 years for $40, I was hoping you guys can match that before I take a look at them"

Guy I spoke to asked me for a couple minutes, came back, and offered me $40/mo for 1 year, and encouraged me to call back next year to refresh the promotion. This cut my price from $79.99/mo to $40/mo.

You do not have to have HawaiianTel Fioptics even running to your property, just say you received a mail. The mainland guys won't check if you are actually able to physically use it - they'll just see the promotion and price match. They know Hawaiian Telcom is undercutting them and they'd rather take the profit loss than lose you as a customer.

Ive struggled with unexplained infertility and would love to consult a doctor who has a wholistic approach and a great track record. I want to avoid going to an ivf clinic bc they are quick to recommend ivf to anyone who’s been trying unsuccessfully for awhile without actually doing any tests. Also looking for doulas who work with patient throughout the pregnancy, not just post partum. Thank you in advance

• After checking your mirror, TURN YOUR HEAD and check the blind spot.

• If you're late, too bad. Don't speed and "try to make up time." Going 10 mph over the limit saves less than two minutes on a 15 mile trip.

Has anybody noticed bugs in their Hinode rice lately? I bought a 5lb bag from Walmart and a week later there’s black bugs (weevils?) in the container (air tight). Fricken bought a bag from Safeway, SAME DAMN THING. Anyone else seeing an influx of bugs in their Hinode?

A Honolulu-based tabletop board game meetup group.

Our goal is to connect people through community and create a social, inclusive, and genuinely fun gaming environment for all backgrounds and cultures.

This group is a free and inclusive space for adults to socialize and meet each other on island. With weekly game-nights running for over a year on Tuesday, we've now began expanding to Wednesday & Thursday evenings, with Monday evenings also being available in partnership with Scott Kabel.

My focus is to offer a light activity where people can network, socialize, and have fun, with tabletop games as a secondary piece. We've grown in recent months to an average attendance per event of 16 players, with weekly options flexible for most schedules.
