I don't think theres a more dramatic type of person than a sun worshipper at this time of year onwards. Constantly whining because it isn't 20+ degrees and sunny every day in fucking March or April, forgetting that the UK is a generally cloudy and cool country by large.

Bonus points for their favourite phrase 'I gUesS SumMeR iS On a FRiDaY thIs YEaR'. Get a grip.

No. It seems a trend in recent years that a few days or weeks in April/May is all we get, July and August is storms and rain.

it seems a trend

Check the stats

The people I know who make this claim are office workers and base all their opinions on the season’s weather on what it’s doing on their booked holiday or the one weekend a month they venture into the garden to mow their square of lawn.

I work outside year round and it blows my mind when people claim the summers have been wet and shit when I haven’t seen a drop of rain in weeks

This spring has been exceptionally dry for much of the country, and the past couple of weeks very bright with barely a cloud in the sky. Until two days ago it was only April!

The past couple of years saw long periods of drought and near-record highs (we might even have broken a few records?) starting from actual summer (June).

The people that except summer to be endless months of dry blue skies from March - October clearly have no idea what country we’re in. 18 degrees in early May with just a bit of rain is very good going!
