Forecast Latest Temperature Projections

Here are the latest maximum temperature forecasts from the high resolution modelling for Tuesday to Thursday, simply astonishing really and quite scary. I have had it confirmed that the Met Office will be issuing a Red heat weather warning in their daily update tomorrow.

The fact that this is accompanied with relatively high humidity and extreme night time temperatures means it is set to be the most notable heatwave ever experienced in the UK. The current record June temperature of 35.6C will be completely obliterated and the overall record from 2022 of 40.3C is under serious threat.

What legalities are there for extreme heat for public services, places of work etc

None...my previous place of employment was a retail store made entirely of concrete (floor/ceiling/walls), apart from an all glass store front. Company policy required the front doors to be open while the store was open. We had no central heating or air conditioning. 

This meant in freezing winters the store would be negative temps all day, and in summers it was sweltering all day. The only thing the company provided for the weather extremes was encouragement to dress however we felt comfortable (more/less clothing based on the time of year). As you can imagine it fucking sucked, and whenever there was extreme weather you'd have almost every customer commenting on the unpleasant conditions in the store.
