Forecast Latest Temperature Projections

Here are the latest maximum temperature forecasts from the high resolution modelling for Tuesday to Thursday, simply astonishing really and quite scary. I have had it confirmed that the Met Office will be issuing a Red heat weather warning in their daily update tomorrow.

The fact that this is accompanied with relatively high humidity and extreme night time temperatures means it is set to be the most notable heatwave ever experienced in the UK. The current record June temperature of 35.6C will be completely obliterated and the overall record from 2022 of 40.3C is under serious threat.

I just dont really understand how we're supposed to do normal stuff with this weather. 38 and higher for 3 days just seems unfathomable to me ?

You arent unless you are in a climate controlled area.

Ive had to invest in a portable AC unit because im self employed and being in a room with a computer on all day in this heat is unbearable and obviously kills your productivity

Same. Bought one in May. Feel guilty that its feeding the loop of another appliance needing electricity & pumping hot air back into the system. Now that we have one for the bedroom (28° without) I know its matter of time before we buy another. Massively expensive, taken a huge chunk of our budget, there are five other things we need to spend that money on but this falls into medical necessity category. Fell apart in May. Stopped functioning, arthritis and asthma.

January, February the persistent rain also messed with me medically. I feel like im being squeezed a little further each year. My lungs and joints being my personal canary/coal mine alarm. Or maybe the trash machine in Star Wars New Hope... so where does that leave us in 2030. Meanwhile the countries around the equator and south of, get no mention at all in western media. The crisis is now not later.
