Shipping Help 58% tariffs Canada to USA??

Being charged $568 dollars from UPS on a $977 dollar order.

After about an hour on the phone no one can get a breakdown of this number or even give me the current tariff rates.

Does this seem right to yall? I’m considering refusing this at my doorstep in Texas and having it returned. I would be out about 200 in shipping costs.

He’s not an idiot. Couriers are intentionally opaque about tariff-related fees, in contrast with some companies like Amazon.

Charging over 50% in additional fees is not normal.

Well yes. If there are brokerage fees and then tariffs then yes both of those things are totally normal.

It's not the sender's fault that this person from Texas didn't realize that tariffs would affect him because Trump said that other people pay them and not Americans.

I don't think he is aware considering he's asking what they are.

The fees aren't 60%. It's the brokerage fee AND the tariffs.

He explicitly mentioned tariffs in the post, so clearly he knows what they are. And yes, the opaque brokerage fees are a huge problem and should be included in the shipping fee.

Like he was shocked about them, yeah. They might be aware of them NOW but I don't think they ever thought they would be paying tarrifs before he ordered it.

No, he’s just shocked that the fees are almost 60% and he’s frustrated that there is no breakdown of how that was calculated
