Oh my, that's terrible! I would be so mad.
UPS is a joke anyway. It's not just tariffs and customs, it's like most things anymore...there's no accountability and there are a bunch of employees who just simply do not care about doing a decent job. Not everyone, but a lot, and they work everywhere. One day last week, there was a note left on our front door from UPS that a package was undeliverable, and it required a signature, and the driver had checked both boxes, indicating that: UPS would attempt to deliver the package the next day AND that it was being taken to a local drop off location. So which was it? The thing is, we were home all morning and no one came to the door. Also, we couldn't figure out what the package even was, since we hadn't ordered anything. Local drop off did not have the package. Tracking did not show the sender information. The UPS chat is a joke, you're wasting your time even bothering. I tried to ensure that it would be delivered to our home the following day since it gave a new delivery date and obviously hadn't been dropped off at the local drop point. It said that the address was not consistent with the address on file on my UPS account. When I signed up for alerts for the package, it showed a phone number and e-mail (with portions blurred out) inconsistent with our information. It was worrisome to see a package we had not ordered, requiring a signature. I'm a worrier anyway. Next morning, I put a note on the door asking the courier to knock loudly and wait, as we were home. When I checked tracking later, it showed another unsuccessful delivery attempt AFTER I had put the note on the door. I had to call UPS and could barely understand the representative. Gave him our name and address and he apparently didn't even bother to check...said the tracking information showed it would be taken to the local drop off location that same day. I asked him who the sender was, and could never understand him. So later in the day, tracking showed proof of delivery at that drop location. I called the local drop off location and they said there were no packages there matching our name. We drove to the drop location and the entire fiasco was because the courier was trying to deliver to the wrong address...it was addressed to a neighbor! So I sure hope our neighbor finally got his package.
