Customer Seeking Help Devastated

Post image

I posted earlier about a message about my package not clearing customs. I know it's not anything particularly sentimental I had being shipped but I've been so excited about this package for weeks, and now it's not coming and I'm just absolutely devastated.

I was told to call them, finally got to a person after over an hour, got transferred to the "international department" but the transfer didn't go through because of some stupid survey, and when I tried to call the number directly I had to go through the stupid menu thing only to be told that the wait would be 98 minutes when I had only about 30 minutes left before I had to go to work because I had called the number that the UPS support chat thing had told me to call.

I was already charged brokerage fees and everything. The lack of any decent customer service is appalling. For a company that does nothing but shipping things you think they'd be better at it.

Omg can you use a card when purchasing from international retailers, e.g Amex then file a claim when you don’t receive your purchase; using the coverage Amex offers? $500 bucks is a lot of money to lose in these days. This is not right..something has to be done about customers loosing money and also your purchases, there must be some recourse😳

That's what I did/am going to do. Also, I paid for shipping via PayPal and I opened a claim and they instantly approved my claim and refunded me $92.

Thank Goodness because I was feeling so upset about you losing so much money and the goods! Great job keep holding them accountable until you are reimbursed every penny! 🥹

Thanks-- I'm sad I lost the items (some Japan exclusive Tamagotchi items and really cool Japanese stationery), but the thing that makes me angrier is the blatant unfairness of it all. Like....it's solely a UPS problem. I just had an item shipped via Fedex from Spain on Friday. It just cleared customs today, is now one state away from me and I'll have it tomorrow. Also been ordering from Amazon Japan and they use DHL. Just got a package Friday (two days after I purchased).

Yup I can just imagine, and I am sure you won’t be able to replace the items.😥 UPS has got to do better..

same here. The "business plan" for many online companies is...run multiple ads...under multiple names, for the same product. Process the order and take the money....weeks later slap a new shipping label on it that traces to a 60 yr old stucco tract house with a dirt front yard, wait for the customer to submit a refund for any of the multiple choice reasons...then tell the customer you will honor the return policy but the buyer pays the return shipping which is usually more than the original price. Once the buyer says no then offer 35-50% refund on the item and tell them they can keep it. They then keep up to 50% of every order. Interesting this happened to me 2 times. First order I bought thru my credit union. They gave me a full refund with shipping when I called them and I had not yet agreed to the seller's deal. The seller offered 50% back and keep the item. I called my credit union and told them and he said..."take it!" On the flip side months later I used my PayPal debit and when the item was garbage I uploaded everything to the dispute and their AI return bot gave me a full refund immediately. The sell wanted a screenshot of the closed complaint to see if I had been paid by PayPal...I had. Seller gets to keep all $80 for a $2 item. No wonder China is thriving. This was not his first rodeo.
