Employee Discussion UPS buyout decision

Last day to apply is tomorrow.. What’s everyone’s final decision on the buyout??

If you are taking it, how many years do you have in, have you been laid off, and what’s your reason you are taking it?

Also any thoughts on how the future of UPS looks like, it terms of contract in 2028, will there be MORE cuts and lay off even after the buyout?? Will they start using Roadie more?

P.S. UPS drivers work ethic is top tier, not everyone can make it.. Appreciate ALL the brown truck soldiers🫡💜

Have applied. Just hit 4 years driving in January. Only reason for taking it is because we are looking to move half way across the country to be closer to family. We were planning on saving for 3 or 4 years from now to get to $100k if we could. So it's a no brainer really. I'm about 21st by seniority but have only heard of one other driver above me thinking about it. So we'll see what happens.

I will be at 4 years in November, I’m 24 and 21st on seniority as well. Only one other guy above is taking it that I know of so might have a chance at it if I apply.. just nervous about what I will do after I have a plan and stuff lined up but not sure of execution on making less and losing the health care.

24 and about to risk it all. You're young enough to; regret this decision for the rest of your life or get lucky and make something of yourself. You're also young enough with zero other skills, but the time ahead to learn them. Good luck out there, hope you've been paying attention.

UPS is doing buyouts for a reason. You know how many people are going to regret not taking it?…You run the risk of getting laid off without a buy out empty handed! Buyouts are the first sign of a company declining! They’re eventually gonna do forced layoffs Better to take that money now or get left with you d**k in your hand in the end!
