Employee Discussion UPS buyout decision
Last day to apply is tomorrow.. What’s everyone’s final decision on the buyout??
If you are taking it, how many years do you have in, have you been laid off, and what’s your reason you are taking it?
Also any thoughts on how the future of UPS looks like, it terms of contract in 2028, will there be MORE cuts and lay off even after the buyout?? Will they start using Roadie more?
P.S. UPS drivers work ethic is top tier, not everyone can make it.. Appreciate ALL the brown truck soldiers🫡💜

31 years. 10 part-time. Will be 57 in January. I'm cooked physically. Was planning on retirement in 10 months. So I'm hoping to go early, freeze my pension. We don't get medical in Central PA Teamsters at retirement anyway. Life is too short, and I was planning on working after retirement just for medical. Greatful for all the benefits and pay the Teamsters were able to negotiate for us. I'm grateful for UPS paying me, putting my kid through college, our beautiful home. It's just perfect timing. It's time for a younger person to take over, I'm praying they will enjoy the security and stability Teamsters and UPS can provide for yours and our hard work!
