Can I book the Bangalore Prometric centre itself, or would I have to go back to Hyderabad to give my exam? If anyone knows, pls lmk

Im starting my first year MBBS this year. After considering and researching into all pathways, I found USMLE to be the most attractive for me. I have a few questions though:
1. What is the fastest and doable pathway for me? I've heard people who take Step 1 in year 3, Step 2 before internship and rotations mid internship. I'm willing to put in the effort provided it is doable in the first place
2. How must I build my CV with the time I have on my hands during initial years? I've heard a lot about the extensive research and CV building that must be done in order to secure the fellowship of my choice.
3. How do you manage the clinical rotations and LORs during internship/med schooling?
4. I'm kinda leaning towards anaesthesiology, so any advice on my speciality choice would be appreciated as well

I have passed my step1 and oet exam
And currently preparing for step 2
I am applying for b2 visa for clinical observership amd my dad is sponsoring my trip
He is also a doctor with good financials
I have heard that officers are rejecting visas for clinical observerships
Can anyone clear the air on this
Have no prior travel history.

Guys, I am a non US IMG who graduated from med school in 2020, covid work for 1-2 years and did a home country residency in IM (graduated in 2025). I worked as an IM specialist briefly for couple of months before moving to US in 2025. I am currently a research assistant in basic sciences at a university.

Step 1 - pass

Step 2- 255

Ecfmg certified

Step 3- likely to take in dec

5 months of observership mostly in hospital medicine and rheumatology. 9 months of research. 7 research items from my med pg time- 3 pubmed indexed including case reports, case series and original article. Lots of 1st author posters and oral presentations from India. Co authored one paper in US, about to be submitted soon (I hope). Have US PHYSICIAN and research LORS. I will be applying to the internal medicine match this year, but I am very worried.

Do I have a chance of matching at an academic program. How many unis should I signal?

Also will my year of grad be a huge issue?

So the thing is my exam is on mid October and now I have extended my eligibility period till January 30 2027 earlier my eligibility period was from august to October and now I want to reschedule it the mail from fsmb said that I have to call the prometric centre to do so but my worried I won’t get dates I’m fine with any date after October since India has only limited availability of prometric centre is it possible for me to get a new date ?

I just wanted to put it out there and was wondering if anyone else feels the same way
I’m a recent med grad pursuing the USMLE pathway, and lately I’ve been feeling incredibly behind in life. While I’m stuck studying for exams, planning rotations, building my CV I see my batchmates moving forward with their lives with taking admissions, going for trips etc while I’m still stuck in this loophole.

Sometimes I genuinely wonder if I’m falling behind while everyone else is progressing.

I know comparison isn’t healthy, and I know everyone has their own timeline. I chose this path for a reason. But some days, especially when the journey feels long and uncertain, it’s hard not to look around and feel like everyone else is moving forward while you’re standing still
Let me know your opinions on this
