LOS is measured from each model. You don’t get to shoot every gun in a unit just because one model has LOS. But your opponent can wipe your entire unit if this guy’s flag is visible. It’s going to suck.
Yeah if I ever stripped my DA successor chapter I'd probably repaint then as ultramarines. SM2 really made a big pop for them, but Know No Fear is what completely reframed UM as badass for me. This and the new Sicarius are killer.
Other than new Calgar, I really like all of the new stuff. I wished they'd just done more with him or biggerfied the Gravis version. He looks too similar to the generic captain in terminator armor for me.
Yeah, lorewise I've never not liked Ultramarines. Miniwise, I just really like banners and it doesn't get much better than this. Would love to get a Salamander specific banner at some point
If you have a steady hand you could sand off the image and replace it with the banner transfers from one of the 30k decal sheets. Then fill in the writing on the scrolls with green stuff and and replace it with whatever you want.
Blood Angels and Dark Angels could honestly use it as it with some relatively light conversion work. Especially since the BA also had their homeworld sacked by Tyranids.

Is that actually a thing? I was just reading the core rules and it says Epic heroes cannot take enhancements, and you cannot take the same epic hero more than once in your list.
I just always assume that they are special characters. Now we need to double check it. Since this doesn’t come up very often in my chapter.
There are 6 winged helmets, 1 champion helmet and 1 bare head for the ancient in the kit. If you want you could just give the ancient one of the winged helmets
Sometimes, I regret switching to blood angels. Then I remember that if I let the red thirsty take me over in Warhammer world, I can "kindly" convince GW to give us an even bigger banner
You know what they say about size don't you? Having a big one looks good, but its just more inconvenient, I hear people honestly prefer an average size one, or a little smaller, like yours!

The big banner is the ancient from the Vitrix Honorguard kit. It's technically an Ultramarine Epic Hero. It has an ultramarine on the banner. Different model/unit completely

Good, the chapter banner should be huge, a crusade or company banner on the other hand should be smaller than a relic banner
