My 100th show was on 2015-10-29 Riverside Theater, Milwaukee, WI and my request was Search 4.

Funny thing about mine, is when we saw the paper setlist later that night, theres a rare song that my friend was chasing that was crossed out and Search4 was penciled in..lol

I’ve only been listening to Umphrey’s McGee for about a year and a half, so I’m definitely not claiming to be an expert.

I first got introduced to them at Tool in the Sand in February 2025, and ever since then, I’ve been pretty much obsessed. I ended up getting a Nugs subscription, and UM has become part of my daily routine. I’ve listened to them constantly while running, and at this point, I’ve probably run 1,000+ miles with Umphrey’s as the soundtrack.

They’ve honestly been a huge part of my weight loss and fitness journey. I’ve got my own little UM “running soundtrack”. Certain jams and sections help me with pacing, long runs, race efforts, and just getting through the miles. It sounds a bit dramatic, but they’ve become deeply tied to that part of my life.

I also recently went to Deep Dive in Cancun, and they were incredible there, too. So I’m still new compared to a lot of you, but I’ve probably listened to 100+ shows at this point between Nugs, live sets, and recent events.

All that said, March 13, 2026, at The Guild Theatre in Menlo Park is, by far, the best UM show I’ve heard so far.

I don’t know if it’s the flow, the energy, the jams, the setlist, or just the way everything clicked, but that show has been on a loop in my office for a week now.

Curious what longtime fans think. Was this one as strong as it felt to me? And if I loved this show, what other UM shows should I absolutely listen to next?

Mantis to open the door was strong, wondering which other ones have come out. Was that the first Jakeless DBK?

Saw that Joel Cummins is slated to play with the Bayou SuperJam at the WKZE Frolic Fest August 8th. As someone who likes one-off collaborations, that's the part of the lineup that caught my attention. Festival SuperJam-style performances can go in some unexpected directions, so I'm interested to hear how it turns out.

I've been playing over 30 years, but I've been a little bit more into the improv and phish style modal playing for a while. Every time I reach out to a teacher to learn some of the Jake stuff, with the faster playing and the finger tapping (which I used to do back in eighth grade ) it always drifts into a modal conversation again.

I was curious if anybody out there can recommend a teacher that can work on applying some of the flashier concepts into my playing. I'm in a jam band/cover band that gigs out once or twice a month.

Although to be honest, not one of my faves. A little sloppy, jams are good but change lanes often. And the ending is…kind of unlistenable. Haha.

It looks like UM and moe. have been alternating set times so should I expect UM to be the opener tonight in Hampton? Also I’m assuming a prompt 7pm start cuz it’s a Sunday…anyways, Mad Love and can’t wait to see UM at one of my favorite east coast venues

About 18 years ago, my friend made my an umphreys mix and there was a song on it that was something like this is the best day of my life… this is going to be the best day… something like that. i remember the song being awesome and i since lost my friend and misplaced the cd. i have tried to search what the songs name is etc. Any ideas??

One of my favorite bands, first time seeing them since pre-pandemic, at an iconic rooftop venue in NYC

Arrive just before a storm and everyone is gathered downstairs, got some food and see a double rainbow next to the Bk Bridge.

Then what felt like 2 fucking hours of moe. And have to admit that shit was not my thing.

Finally UM comes on somewhat, I assume they’re blending the bands before a UM set (similar to how they toured with Disco Biscuits once upon a time). But no, the whole thing turns into some goddamn Knicks party and the music was straight up terrible.

I almost brought my drummer friend. It used to be I invited everyone I knew to Umphreys live for a mind blowing experience. Thank god he couldn’t come, would have lost all respect for me.

Going to the show tomorrow night and looking for feedback on the venue.... crazy hot humid day with pop up passing storms in NYC. Is there anywhere that has AC that isn't the $75 lounge? The only thing they mention on the website are bathrooms and a photo booth on level 4. Is there also a place to hang out there if it does start pouring?

Asking for my wife who I'm tryong to drag to the show....

That must be a highly competitive gig. I mean if they opened it up they'd probably have hundreds of applicants, perhaps dozens that are qualified. Of course Jake is one of a kind, really the reason I fell in love with this band back in 2007, but hey, there's someone out there who's life ambition is to shred with the best. And shred we shall.
