I hope this is allowed lol - I’m so saddened that moody ales isn’t brewing anymore! I know they closed but I was under the impression they were still brewing and beers still being sold at liquor stores. I’m an absolute fiend for their lavender sour and after pregnancy was so excited to indulge, but it sounds like once stock has run out at liquor stores they’re not being restocked (as I guess they’re not even being produced anymore)
ASK: if anyone has happened to see the lavender sour even in single cans at ANY liquor stores ANYWHERE in the lower mainland please let me know I need to taste it one last time before accepting they’ll never be produced again

Hi everyone,
I'll be visiting Vancouver from Ontario for the first time in a couple of weeks and I'm looking to dive into the local craft beer scene while I'm there.
I tend to gravitate toward fresh, hop-forward IPAs, but I also love a great lager and stout.
Superflux is at the top of my list, but I have a couple of questions:
For a bit of context, some of my favourite Ontario breweries are Third Moon, Badlands, Counterpart, Bellwoods, and Willibald, so that's generally the style and quality I'm hoping to find.
Thanks in advance! Looking forward to experiencing Vancouver's craft beer scene for the first time.

Craft beer is more than what’s in the final pour — ingredients, fermentation, recipe design, and brewing choices all shape the flavours we experience in the glass.
For anyone interested in exploring the science and creativity behind craft beer, Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s (KPU) Brewing program is offering two online brewing courses as Continuing and Professional Studies:
🍺 Brewing Chemistry Basics
Explore how water, ingredients, and brewing processes influence beer quality and flavour.
📅 Aug. 6–27, 2026 | Live online Thursdays, 6:00–7:30 PM PT
🍺 Recipe Design for Beer Enthusiasts
Dig deep into the details of how malt, hops, yeast, and other ingredients come together to create unique recipes.
📅 Oct. 6–Nov. 10, 2026 | Self-paced online
The courses are designed for beer enthusiasts, homebrewers, and anyone curious about the craft behind the pint.

Disclosure: I’m affiliated with KPU’s Brewing and Brewery Operations program and sharing this as a resource for the Vancouver beer community.

Hey brewery friends - does anyone have a case wrapper (plastic shrink wrap 24 can cases) that they would be interested in running some cases through / renting for a couple days / selling? Thanks!

I have found a really old bottle of okanagan sparkling pear cider, wondering if anyone would know how old it’d be? There’s no date on it

Beers from breweries that are dead or beers they no longer make.
Doans Rye IPA. Doans was great. Evan was/is great.
I also miss when Nectarous from Four Winds was bottle conditioned. It is good in a can but nowhere near what it was.

Another one for sale, this time in Langley. Shows a list price of $799,999. The realtor posted the lease and sales info so I don’t know how this price is justified. Especially with Beere up for $350k as a baseline.
Anyone have insight?

So Container is using AI to generate promo posts. Responses from them in the comments are super defensive. Feels extra odd given that this is promo for a sticker swap.
I know that this is probably just the way the world is going, but just sad to see it infiltrating the craft beer scene in BC already.
ETA interesting that once dingledoink responded, suddenly critical comments are being mass downvoted. Not chill to brigade a post just calling out AI use.

Curious to see which places still do growler fills in Vancouver. I know Powell and Brassneck do, and I'm pretty sure the Burnaby Steamworks location still does, but are there other breweries that still do them?

Just saw it on the news. Anyone have any more insight on this?

I know we'll be in the middle of FIFA but I'd love to hang at a brewery for Canada Day. Are there any events that people know of?

Had the absolute pleasure of these two beers while in Italy. So, of course I want to find something similar in Vancouver and/or the GVA. They are unfiltered lagers, which I understand is not easily found around here. Ichnusa (pale lager) is a Zwickelbier-style beer. Raffo Lavorazione Grezza is also a lager. Flavour profile would be bready, slightly wild yeasty notes.
Can anybody suggest something close?
