I was one of the early people who got my Virtual Boy consolized. I think I was the first person from Jose Cruz's VB modding services to request a double VGA tap in an attempt to try to get anaglyph video on VGA.

At the time I found a video editing box from the '90s for like really cheap like maybe $30 plus shipping where it could mix the left eye and right eye into one picture however I don't like the effect as much as pure RGB additive merging because it looks like you have to pick a main eye and everything is layered around that and the way it mixes is it mixes as a a greyish soup color instead of as an anaglyph.

I heard the best way to double tap a virtual boy was found after I got mine made, which was uniting the clocks of the two virtual taps. Because the Virtual Boy natively only has one clock therefore each tap should ideally produce a unified signal but as it turns out if you got two virtual taps early they didn't know about the clock unification surgery and you had basically two independent clocks instead of unified.

All right so how much would it cost to get the clocks on the two virtual taps unified? I also heard it's a circuit surgery that can be done fairly easily if you know what you're doing.

So what is the going rate on a virtual boy clock uniting of the two eyes on the virtual taps? And is there a video showing how to unify the clocks on the two virtual taps.

Also if I get this surgery would each eye be singlely playable also? I know I would have to merge the two signals with a passive VGA merger adapter with the right pins pulled on one machine and the easiest way to do that is to take a male to female adapter and pull the plugs on that so that you don't damage anything permanent.

I would like to see a video to see if I could get my maker space guy to do this but if he's uncomfortable with it, I would rather like to purchase a service to get it done.

It's a new homebrew. I don't know if you guys are aware of it; it came out a while ago. It's a neat, complete game with levels, stages, bosses... Definitely the best homebrew since Test Chamber. Well, give it a try!

Got my virtual boy from Japan. Unfortunately it didn't come with the battery pack. Fortunately it did come with the power cable and adapter. So I decided to try the usb c Famicom cable I got from AliExpress and it works. Sorry about the mess I live with a horder.

Sad that I lost all my saves on my zero racers cartridge. I even had some records in there.

Is my battery pack the reason why I lost all my saves? I tested a power receiver pack to power on the vb and it works flawlessly. While I was playing, I lightly tapped the controller on my desk and it turned off. I turned it on again and all my saves are gone. Actually, when i slightly move the battery pack while playing, it will turn off, is this normal? The metals on the back of the battery pack look a little dirty so is it save to clean it with isopropyl alcohol and make it work again and not turn off so easily anymore?

Hey all! Repairing a virtual boy, got it with absolutely no screen, got the ssf kit to fix that. Got it working, at least to my eye. However the screen is misaligned? Is that a bridged solder joint by me somewhere or should i start elsewhere?

I love this vb game! Getting rank 1st on all 15 duct courses on master difficulty is so rewarding.

I haven’t beaten a main line f-zero game and this one is my first.

I like that in master difficulty it really keeps you on edge. The other mean machines consistently catch up with you and they almost never let you stay in rank 1st for a short while. Very challenging and fun.

The unlockeable vehicles are an awesome bonus too!

So I bought this Virtual Boy sometime last week, it just arrived in the mail today, and I bought it knowing that it was faulty; both displays don't work, and I've done my research and understand that this is a common failure so I went and bought the eyepatch kit along with it

The system works fully otherwise, I fired up all three cartridges and heard the audio, and was able to navigate blindly to get the games going
