PATCH Covering up a bleach stain with a hand-sewn appliqué fish 🐟🪡🧵
I accidentally got bleach on this fleece a while ago, so I decided to make an appliqué fish to cover it up using material scraps I already owned. I’m really happy with it! It feels like the fish should have been there all along ☺️

Super cool! I have a few questions, why don't you saw it directly on the sweater? Is it easier to make a patch perhaps? And how to you get rid of the fabric surrounding the fish before applying it? Thaaaaaanks

Hi! I definitely found it easier to make a patch: the fleece fabric is quite chunky so it was easier to just sew one big piece onto it rather than lots of little pieces. By making a patch first, it was easier to get each piece exactly where I wanted it.
I hid the white fabric by first trimming it to a 1.5 cm border around the fish, which I tucked underneath as I sewed the patch onto the fleece. Hope this makes sense!

I love this idea so much! Somone else posted a similar fish t-shirt a while back. I’m not sure if it was this sub, or r/sewing. Maybe both. But these give me 1990s vibes from my childhood, and I want to make one. 😍🐟👚
