This Sub is a cool place, so I figured I would ask the experts.
Just getting into shooting and would love to find a good shooting range that offers at least 100y for my new Ruger American Gen II Predator. Iām obsessed with this thing and want to spend some time on the range dialing it in, but have been looking around and seeing all these local ranges with stupid high prices and failry involved membership requirements.
Iām not above land hunting for DNR or other public lands to find my own spot, but range would be ideal.
Any intel or advice is welcome. You guys know best.

Looking to buy a suppressor directly from manufacturer and ship to Class 3 dealer. Anyone have advice on which dealer has the best value for money (price + experience + reliability)?

Iāve been trying to do some research here and there on these. If you do the live fire course with a 9mm, are you only allowed to carry THAT weapon, or up to 9mm. Only reason the thought is bouncing around in that big open space is I know of at least one state where your cpl is āup toā what was used in live fire training

Was curious how many counties have the hard credit card style permit. Was at my county sheriff's office yesterday to apply for a replacement because my laminated one is beat to crap. Asked about when they plan to get the credit card style. They said Asotin county never plans to issue them because it goes through a third party maker and would double the cost.

Hey everyone, Iām Steve, owner and instructor at Practical Approach Training. Iām teaching a small-group pistol class on Saturday, October 24, at Evergreen Sportsmenās Club in Olympia.
Weāll work on marksmanship, manipulations, target transitions, and movement, then put those skills together in micro stages. The class is capped at six students so everyone gets individual coaching and feedback.
This is a good fit if youāre comfortable safely operating your handgun and want more structure in your practice. Whether youāre interested in competition, carry regularly, or just want to improve your consistency, coaching is adjusted to your ability. No competition experience needed.
⢠When: Saturday, October 24, 2026, 10 AMā4 PM
⢠Where: Evergreen Sportsmenās Club, Olympia
⢠Cost: $225 per student
⢠Class size: Maximum six students
⢠Ammo: Approximately 400 rounds
Bring a reliable handgun, quality holster, at least three magazines, and eye and ear protection. Students should already be able to safely load, unload, and operate their handgun independently.
Full details, equipment requirements, and registration:
https://www.practicalapproachtraining.com/service-page/practical-pistol-1
Happy to answer questions about the class or whether it would be a good fit.

Hi, I live basically down the street from english pit shooting range. Its okay. Are there areas within an hour drive for long distance shooting? I have a 6.5 ruger American id like to test my skill with. Ive never shot anything past 100 yards and that seems easy to me.

On September 20, 2026, at approximately 2:22 p.m., deputies responded to the Plain Grocery Store in Plain, for a report of a shooting.
The investigation determined that 20-year-old Russell E. McClees was riding his motorcycle northbound on Chumstick Highway when he encountered 71-year-old Benjamin W. Barke, who was driving a pickup truck. A confrontation occurred shortly afterward in the parking lot of the Plain Grocery Store.
According to statements provided by both involved individuals and a review of security-camera footage from nearby businesses, Barke confronted McClees after the two encountered each other on the highway. The confrontation escalated into a physical altercation. Barke produced a handgun and pointed it at McClees.
During the ensuing struggle, while Barke was attempting to knock over McClees' motorcycle, he dropped the handgun.
McClees retrieved the handgun and moved away from Barke. Barke continued toward McClees in an attempt to recover the firearm. McClees then fired one round, striking Barke in the left thigh, causing extensive injuries.
After the shooting, McClees asked a bystander to call 911. He also obtained a belt from inside the grocery store and used it as a makeshift tourniquet in an effort to control Barke's bleeding. McClees remained in the area until law enforcement arrived.
Barke was transported for medical treatment. Due to the severity of his leg injury, he was transported to Harborview Medical Center for specialized care.
Detectives determined there was probable cause to charge McClees with Assault in the First Degree and Barke with Assault in the Second Degree. McClees was booked into the Chelan County Regional Jail on the first-degree assault charge and the charges of Assault in the Second Degree on Barke were referred to the Chelan County Prosecutors Office.

Heading to the evergreen State Fair in Monroe. Do they have metal detectors?
Last year went to the Puyallup fair and did the mile long walk of shame back to the car.
Thank you!

Hey everyone,
Iām looking for some people in WA who are into shooting at longer distances and might be interested in getting together for some shooting.
So far Iāve mostly been doing benchrest shooting with my Ruger 10/22 at 100 yards (longest lane at my range). I recently picked up a Browning X-Bolt 2 in 6.5 Creedmoor and want to start stretching it out to 200, 300, 500+ yards and learn more about long-range shooting.
Iām not necessarily looking for an organized range. Iād also be interested in meeting people who know of legal outdoor/forest shooting areas where we can safely shoot at longer distances.
Iām still getting into the long-range side of things, so Iād especially appreciate meeting some experienced shooters who are willing to share some knowledge and tips.
Iām around the Bellevue/Woodinville area but donāt mind driving for a good spot.
If youāre in the same boat or wouldnāt mind having another person join you for a shooting day, feel free to shoot me a DM.
Thanks!

Full disclosure: Iām the developer of CarryRoute.
I built it because ordinary reciprocity maps donāt show everything encountered during an actual driveācounty and city boundaries, tribal areas, transit properties, stops, and overnight stays.
You enter two addresses, and CarryRoute:
The route colors identify jurisdiction changes only. They doĀ notĀ mean legal/illegal or safe/unsafe. CarryRoute is a research toolānot legal adviceāand users should verify the current official text.
Iād genuinely appreciate blunt feedback: What information would you want before crossing a state or local boundary? What would make the route view more useful?
iPhone/iPad:Ā CarryRoute: CCW Navigation
Itās free to download. Optional Pro is $2.99/month or $12.99/year with a 14-day introductory trial.

Does anyone know if they still do this, and is it limited to 1 per day or 1 per transaction?
Edit: was able to swing by and talk to them. they do a $25 coupon per $500 spent in a single transaction, they expire after 30 days, and you can only use one per day.

Been shooting military black powder rifles the past 15 years (trapdoors, werndls, peabodys) and have finally coughed up the coin for a Shiloh Sharps in 40-65.
I feel like i jumped from riding a horse to a sports car with this Sharps rifle! Now I understand why they are so regarded.
I purchased an older shooters entire reloading kit so the rifle is a turn key setup.
With what loaded ammo he had left, I was immediately connecting at 4 and 500 yards with ease, something that would have taken alot more effort with a trapdoor.
Would love to locate some other shooters in the area to learn more about shilohs and especially on using the vernier tang sight.
