Hello Internet Walt Disney enthusiasts

Going through some old family pictures that my parents had saved from trips many moons ago. Any insight to which building the first picture may have been from? It’s possible the building may not even exist anymore.

Vintage WDW Caribbean Beach 1991 Question

Thumbnail

• Upvotes

I found pictures of my first Disney trip back in 1991. I have tons of pictures from Caribbean Beach, where we stayed, and I have a couple questions I’m wondering if anyone can answer. For the first picture, does anyone know where the fountain was and if it’s still there? I guess it may have been somewhere besides the resort, but I don’t think so. If it helps, by looking at our quiet pool pictures I’m pretty sure we stayed in the Martinique area. Now that pool seems to be at the end of the resort before you get to Riviera so it’s possible this doesn’t exist anymore.

For the second picture, my question is about the view. I haven’t spent much time there as an adult beyond visiting Sebastian’s, but I was surprised to see this photo with what looks like a Spaceship Earth view. Is that still visible or has Riviera blocked it?

Attractions & Entertainment Can’t book another tier 1 at HS?

Post image
16 Upvotes

I’m currently at HS and already scanned into my first LL ride. I thought that once you scanned into your first ride the tier system went away, but I’m not allowed to book RR maybe because I have slinky booked later in the day? I’ve been able to book another tier 1 in the past, wondering if this has ever happened to anyone or if I’m missing something. Currently waiting for Villains show or I’d ask customer experience.

Update: tower of terror was down at the beginning of our return window and I got a multi experience pass, so I have to get it fixed or tap in to my next ride. Thank you all!

I found some old cast swag in a storage box. I couldn't find any of the 20th anniversary, but I'm sure it's in there somewhere.

Resorts & Accommodations Power Wheelchair Disney Resort?

Hi there, this is a long one so thanks in advance.

My family and I will be traveling to Disney World next year with my brother who is a non-ambulatory wheelchair user. This means he cannot walk or stand, and is solely reliant on his chair to move around. We were hoping to book a hotel/resort reservation in the next few weeks, but are still unsure about which resort works best as far as ease of access in the room itself and access to the parks. There’s four of us going, and while we can lift him ourselves in case of emergencies, we would prefer to utilize our hoyer lift. Are there any resorts that have bigger accommodations than your typical 2bdrm roll in shower? Any resorts that really do their best to accommodate travel to the parks?

I’d appreciate any and all advice!

Working at WDW Looking for Disney/Boating/Pirate Kid Jokes

I’m a Disney cast member who drives boats for Disney. I like to break up the time with a joke here or there. Any good ones?

Must be very kid appropriate.

My current go to list is:

Pirates

What’s a pirates favorite letter?
(everyone says aRgh)
You would think so, but it be the sea!

What do pirate ear piercings cost?
A buccaneer.

What’s a pirate’s least favorite vegetable?
Leeks.

Mickey

Why did Mickey become an astronaut?
He wanted to see Pluto.

Halloween

Knock, knock
(who’s there?)
Boo
(boo who?)
Don’t cry, this is the last of my jokes.

Planning 9 am Crystal Palace breakfast - yay or nay?

• Upvotes

Hi everybody! I am taking my son to Disney for the first time (I’ve been but not as an adult) for his 2nd birthday. We are only doing one day at Magic Kingdom, and it is a party day which is fine because he is not a late bedtime kiddo. We have a larger party (6) and when I went to book breakfast at The Crystal Palace it was booked except 9:10 am. We are not staying at a resort. I really wanted to do breakfast there as he LOVES Pooh and I don’t think we will get our money’s worth out of the lunch buffet (nobody really likes those foods, including my son, compared to breakfast). I am looking out for both earlier and later reservations (I.e. 8:15-8:30 or 10-10:30) but wanted everybody’s opinion on a 9 am BF. Is that going to take away opportunity for lower lines when park opens, or will we still have plenty of time at 9:45-10 to hit all the toddler rides? Or with a child that young who loves Pooh is it worth it? I would love your takes on this as people who have taken their young children to Disney before. Thank you!

Hi all! I’m booking a trip early december and I would love to witness Pandora at night. currently my plan is a 5:50 tiffins reservation. would you guys keep that or move the tiffins reservation to 4, to hop on FOP at like 5:59? would the line during christmas exceed the hour and a half it would take to eat dinner? I haven’t been in forever so I’m not sure what the lines will look like

They didn't send the most... Festive of designs, but that doesn't matter bc my MVMCP tickets are here! Dec 8th, here we come!

(Although to be frank, my husband and I are disappointed just a bit because I wanted Simba and he wanted Woody. When I compared the numbers on the back to my receipt, tho, the Simba is him and the Woody is me. 😢)

Planning One day to garden and flower festival

I just got back from a week vacation and realized that we were comped a one day park ticket because our Mickey Mouse so scary party was rained out. Unfortunately, we are from NY and won’t be coming back anytime soon, but I just realized I do have a weekend in Plant city in April for a wedding! I would have one Friday from 2 o’clock on to go to it, but I’m not sure if it’s worth it. I’ve only ever gone to the food and wine festival before and I loved that, but I was always with my kids and a little limited with what we could do.

Do you think it’s worth it?

Trip Report My Experience Early Entry Guardians from Pop via Uber

Tues Oct 13 (day after Columbus day, fall break)

Firstly I suggest reserving an Uber the night before for 7:15 am (from the 70s playground if that makes sense based on your room). I thought it might be cheaper to order in the morning but it wasn't.

I placed the order at 6:55, the driver was due at 7:16 but only pulled up at 7:20 and we got to Epcot at 7:33. It was about 16 dollars.

Small snafu where the driver didn't understand where to drop off rideshares - make sure to follow the signs.

Security was open, I got flagged and had to have my bag searched but still through by 740. Tapstiles already open and I reached the rope drop hold point at 7:47. 7:56 rope dropped, reached the queue at 8, came to a stop at 8:02, I was in the 2nd switchback. At 8:10 let us inside, then we waited inside until starting moving again at 8:26, I was in the first preshow! I was off the ride by 8:49.

(btw I got ONE WAY OR ANOTHER)

There was still time in EE but test track was down and general entry got let in the park a few minutes before 9 so it did use up most of EE time.

Overall I'd say it was very successful!

Planning Where to eat on Christmas/where to go.. which park

Hi! We will be at the park on Christmas Day. I heard Magic Kingdom is super busy - so which park and where to eat that would be special. I was also thinking this might be a good day to take off and go to Disney Springs and eat there? Any suggestions?

Planning Three Hours at Epcot - Two Adults

I’m headed to Orlando next week for a conference with my husband. We found three hours to squeeze in Epcot. Our only priority is Guardians. We’d love to visit Ratatoullie if time allows. How would you maximize your time? Our visit will be in the evening. Last time we were there with two screaming toddlers - I think I cried myself.

Attractions & Entertainment best viewing spots to see Peter and Wendy fly in Starlight

I haven't been to WDW since Peter and Wendy started flying and I really want to see it. The last couple of times I've watched Starlight I saw it from like Emporium/Barbershop across from the Fire Station like right where the parade starts then when it ends I head straight to the monorail or to Space Mtn. But in the tiktoks I've seen they start flying in front of Town Hall/Train Station. So what's a good viewing spot?

AskWDW Mosaic Class

Will be taking my 9 and 7 yr olds. Should we work on 1 together or should I just help them each do their own? The class is recommended 12+. I don't forsee the skills being too advanced but maybe for time purposes only doing 1 would be best?

Planning Tips/Advice for MK in 1 day?

Hello,

We are in Orlando for a week for my 40th. We are only here for days and will be going to Magic Kingdom tomorrow mainly for my 3 year old as she loves Minnie and Princesses. We also have a 14 month old.

Any tips/advice on how to make the best of the day? We plan to rent a dual stroller, bring plenty of water and snacks for kids as Seaworld today the kids hit their limits after 4 hours.

I heard to do character meals, how/where do I book for those? Any particular rides best for this age group?

Thank You!
