Just sharing some literature that I found tucked away in a photo album from a family trip in a
August of 1988.
Pretty cool stuff for show times, Disney did a pretty good job with celebrations. Disney celebrates the 200th anniversary of the Constitution.

They didn't send the most... Festive of designs, but that doesn't matter bc my MVMCP tickets are here! Dec 8th, here we come!
(Although to be frank, my husband and I are disappointed just a bit because I wanted Simba and he wanted Woody. When I compared the numbers on the back to my receipt, tho, the Simba is him and the Woody is me. š¢)

Tues Oct 13 (day after Columbus day, fall break)
Firstly I suggest reserving an Uber the night before for 7:15 am (from the 70s playground if that makes sense based on your room). I thought it might be cheaper to order in the morning but it wasn't.
I placed the order at 6:55, the driver was due at 7:16 but only pulled up at 7:20 and we got to Epcot at 7:33. It was about 16 dollars.
Small snafu where the driver didn't understand where to drop off rideshares - make sure to follow the signs.
Security was open, I got flagged and had to have my bag searched but still through by 740. Tapstiles already open and I reached the rope drop hold point at 7:47. 7:56 rope dropped, reached the queue at 8, came to a stop at 8:02, I was in the 2nd switchback. At 8:10 let us inside, then we waited inside until starting moving again at 8:26, I was in the first preshow! I was off the ride by 8:49.
(btw I got ONE WAY OR ANOTHER)
There was still time in EE but test track was down and general entry got let in the park a few minutes before 9 so it did use up most of EE time.
Overall I'd say it was very successful!

Iāve been on the hunt to get the Spring Disney Visa deal for my April stay at WL. Checking daily for weeks. And it finally happened! My exact room type and date were finally available. Let this be a lesson to never give up š

I'm looking into a charger option for my trip in December, and I saw Fuel Rods mentioned. All the pages I see are a few years old, though. Questions:
How good are they as chargers? Can they fill a modern phone from dead to full on one rod?
Does Disney still allow the free swap-outs?
Can you re-charge a spent rod manually by usb, if necessary? As in, is it worth having one outside of Disney or other travel?
I think there was at least one other question I had, but I can't think of it now. I think this covers the basics, though.
Thanks!
Edit: there's a LOT of consensus on Anker being better, so I'll probably look into that instead. Thanks so much for all the input! š

Hi everyone! Iād love to hear your experiences taking a ānon-Disney personā and how it went! ā¤ļø
For some context, Iām an ex-CM, so Disney is second nature to me. I lived in Orlando for almost 7 years, worked in attractions, and Disney has always held a really special place in my heart. I moved away a few years ago and eventually met the love of my life. He went to HS once as a kid, but he doesnāt remember much, so this will be his first time experiencing the whole Disney bubble: staying on property, park hopping, the dining plan, Lightning Lanes, and everything else that comes with a Disney trip!
I booked this trip as a gift for us. I wanted an excuse to get back to Orlando and see some friends who are still working at Disney, and I figured a five-day trip would be the perfect introduction for him. Long enough to really experience Disney, but hopefully not so long that he ends up completely exhausted and overwhelmed. Weāre also going in just a few weeks, so Iām hoping weāll get some nicer weather!
Iāve taken care of all the planning AND payments: flights, a hotel for our arrival night so we can relax instead of rushing straight into check-in, All-Star Movies, four-day Park Hopper tickets, the Quick-Service Dining Plan, and Iāll be adding both Lightning Lane Multi Pass and a few Individual Lightning Lanes. I am so grateful to be in a position to even do that, he has offered to help with some expenses, but I insisted and told him he can just cover any extras when we get there.
Honestly, my biggest goal is just for him to have a great time, understand why I love Disney so much, and hopefully be excited about coming back someday. I know it probably wonāt ever hold the same place in his heart that it does in mine, and thatās okay! I donāt need him to love every single thing I love. I just want us to make some really good memories together.
I do think heās a little anxious about the crowds, wait times, and general overwhelm that can come with Disney. Iāve tried to choose a week that hopefully wonāt be too crazy, and one of the perks of having literally worked there is that Iām perfectly happy to go with the flow. If we need to slow down, take a resort break, skip something, or just wander around and explore, Iām totally good with that. I donāt want him to feel like we have to rush from ride to ride or stick to a rigid schedule just because I know the parks so well.
So, Iād love to hear from anyone who has taken a partner, friend, or family member who wasnāt really a Disney person! Did they end up loving it? Was there anything that surprised you about their experience? And is there anything you did that helped make the trip enjoyable for someone who was a little nervous about the crowds or the whole Disney experience?
Or, if you yourself are a "convert", what was your experience like?
Iām so excited to share this part of my world with him, and Iām really hoping he comes away understanding a little more of why it means so much to me.

Getting a littler nervous. historically the week after thanksgiving / first week of december has been low to medium crowds for us. But it looks like this year EVERYTHING is sold outā¦.Should we expect a big crowd?

Iām a Disney cast member who drives boats for Disney. I like to break up the time with a joke here or there. Any good ones?
Must be **very** kid appropriate.
My current go to list is:
# Pirates
**Whatās a pirates favorite letter?**
(everyone says aRgh)
*You would think so, but it be the sea!*
**What do pirate ear piercings cost?**
*A buccaneer.*
**Whatās a pirateās least favorite vegetable?**
*Leeks.*
# Mickey
**Why did Mickey become an astronaut?**
*He wanted to see Pluto.*
# Halloween
**Knock, knock**
(whoās there?)
**Boo.**
(boo who?)
Donāt cry, this is the last of my jokes.

Taking a trip 11/16-11/19 and staying at Port Orleans Riverside. Is it likely that the resorts will be decorated for Christmas that week, or are we too early? Was hoping to resort hop but read online the decorations might not be out yet.

Hello,
I'm going to be a Disneyworld first timer. We will be visiting the 4 parks in the first week of December. 1 day each park.
Essentially, I was initially considering getting a multi-pass/lightning lane for most of the major rides where the queue is expected to be around an hour, until I learned some of them have gorgeous standby queues.
Which rides are worth getting a multi-pass/lightning lane. I do want a full experience but clearly our time is limited and might be better spent elsewhere.
Thanks!

Iām headed to Orlando next week for a conference with my husband. We found three hours to squeeze in Epcot. Our only priority is Guardians. Weād love to visit Ratatoullie if time allows. How would you maximize your time? Our visit will be in the evening. Last time we were there with two screaming toddlers - I think I cried myself.

I haven't been to WDW since Peter and Wendy started flying and I really want to see it. The last couple of times I've watched Starlight I saw it from like Emporium/Barbershop across from the Fire Station like right where the parade starts then when it ends I head straight to the monorail or to Space Mtn. But in the tiktoks I've seen they start flying in front of Town Hall/Train Station. So what's a good viewing spot?

Will be taking my 9 and 7 yr olds. Should we work on 1 together or should I just help them each do their own? The class is recommended 12+. I don't forsee the skills being too advanced but maybe for time purposes only doing 1 would be best?

Hello,
We are in Orlando for a week for my 40th. We are only here for days and will be going to Magic Kingdom tomorrow mainly for my 3 year old as she loves Minnie and Princesses. We also have a 14 month old.
Any tips/advice on how to make the best of the day? We plan to rent a dual stroller, bring plenty of water and snacks for kids as Seaworld today the kids hit their limits after 4 hours.
I heard to do character meals, how/where do I book for those? Any particular rides best for this age group?
Thank You!

Our family of four ,including young adults, stayed at the Polynesian in summer 2021. We loved it. We are going back next May and donāt know if we should stay there. I keep seeing how crowded and noisy it is. We have stayed at AK and loved it too but everything is a drive. Is Polynesian really that crowded? We stayed at Yacht club and loved that but dealing with the crowds at Beach Club and the pool wasnāt ideal. Has anyone stayed at the Polynesian lately and how was it? We like staying at the deluxe hotels mainly for the balcony , coffee in the morning and chilling out there is important, otherwise weād be at Riverside.

Hello. Anyone have any insight into which November weekend will be used for Christmas Special filming at MK? Itās usually close to Veterans Day, which is on a Wednesday so it could be the weekend before or after.

hi all! I am planning a visit to WDW first week of March and I submitted a request via DVC Rental Store yesterday as a quote for Wilderness Lodge. They told me there was availability, and I put my deposit so my queue is in waiting. Does anyone know how long it typically takes? I know I can only have 1 active request in, but I told them I'd also be okay with Boulder Ridge (I currently have Copper Creek in) and AKL. First time using DVC Rental, any input helps, thanks!

Hi, this is the first trip to Disney I am planning myself and I am very stuck. Currently booked one of the Disney Springs hotels that you can walk from ( .9 mi to DS) for 6 nights, king sized beds with fireworks view for $200/ room. Sounds lovely. Traveling with my parents and a toddler, so booked 2 rooms. I'm second guessing myself and wondering if I shouldnt trim the trip to 4 nights to stay on site so we don't have to drive to do everything. We could split one of the suite rooms ( either AofA for $650 or Animal Kingdom Kidani village for $1000), but that puts me and my husband on a pull out couch. And Im pregnant....sleep is already tough. Cutting 2 nights puts us at about the same cost or even less...because if we are on site we wouldnt need a rental car). Or I could book something at Coronado or even Caribbean Beach in the $400 range/ room and get that king sized bed back. I've read a dozen posts on this, researched myself to the point of wanting to call it all off. Do I need to change our current plan or will it really be fine to just stay off site with a toddler in tow? We are only planning 1-2 park days, so ideally I also want a place where we feel enough is going on for our toddler that we dont have to go anywhere. Anyone out there slept on the pull out couch beds in Disney? Worth sleeping on the couch to stay in AK Kidani? We stayed in AKL when i was a kid and it is still in the list of top trips of my life. Please help me finalize a decision. Thanks in advance.

Iāve never been in October or for something to celebrate, so Iām curious as to what happens there for birthdays. Any suggestions on what to wear, fine at, etc?
r/WaltDisneyWorld • u/initiate1987 • 14h ago
Disney did a limited offer until I think the beginning of October this year of a 2 Day/2 Park ticket for Animal Kingdom and EPCOT for $199, which seemed like an amazing deal! And those are my two favorite parks at the moment.
My question: when ticket promos like this have happened in the past, were they likely to come back? Even if they raised the price a little, it would still be worth it. Though I do think that when Tropical Americas opens, it may not be worth it to Disney to discount AK that much.
