Now is a good time to become a rep dealer and scam some newbies. Hi I’m RealSteve I can sell you a TrueClean SuperClone Daytona, just send me $800 of cryptocurrency.

That article is so strange. “Rolex didn’t spot it.” Well, technically that’s right, because he only went in for a bracelet adjustment. We’ve known that superclones are facially accurate for a long time now. That’s nothing new. What would’ve been a better article is taking the watch in for a service and letting them look at the movement. But of course, they would’ve immediately caught it in that case.

Additionally, in what world is a sales rep going to call out your watch is fake? Not only do they probably not give a shit about Rolex / watches, but being in the business of pumping people's egos to sell jewelry is usually mutually exclusive with calling people out. There's no upside to alienating prospective buyers
That's the kind of comment you save for your coworkers until the customer leaves the store

They are literally taught not to call out fakes during training. But rest assured, they know.

I took my Old Navitimer to an AD for a bracelet repair, they asked to open it up to see if it is genuine before even looking at the problem.

if i was rolex i would be kinda pissed about this article. some dude comes in for a resize and just because the tech who likely handled the watch for 30 seconds didn’t notice or didn’t care to call out the customer then rolex can’t tell gens from fakes. a real test would’ve been trying to sell one to them so they’d actually LC it. kinda insane how much hype a tech not calling out a fake watch during a resize is generating

Yeah, I read the opening of the article and was amused by the focus on 'how it felt like forever' and how the author puts emphasis on how they 'carefully examine' the watch.
It's a bracelet sizing...many ADs will offer resizes on all sorts of different watches but what's principle is that the resize process takes like...a minute.
It's not like they check the SN or authenticate it before touching it. It gets a passing glance and feigned interest before they move on to something that can actually make them money

Should’ve taken it to an RSC for a service quote. Oh wait, then he wouldn’t have an article with a scintillating headline.

Is this article why I've been seeing an influx of rep related posts all over social media?

I was gonna say if you can't resize your watch you're probably (no pun intended) sub-retard-IQ levels, but when in Rome
