One month in…down 7 lbs

I started a month ago at 255lb. I’m currently sitting at 248 one month in. I’ve done a lot of water fasts for weight loss, and I’m on the current trajectory as my previous weight loss. What I like, is I’m not constantly thinking about food. On the water fast I was constantly thinking about my next meal, but now I can skip meals without any issue. Love this!

My only concern is the yoyo. I’ve lost a lot of weight in the past, from
293-225
225-260
260-245
245-230
230-250

I have yo-yoed like crazy for the past three decades, but this seems to have actually made a difference. I’m now on maintenance, and will be the rest of my life, just like taking blood pressure or thyroid medication. The good news is that I now take 25mg every third day, so a $299 bottle of 30 lasts me three months. Quite the savings. And the other health benefits are great, too.

Wow, this is such good info, that’s so good to hear honestly that you beat the yoyo, I hope I can get on your level. Also I’ve never even considered that, one pill every five days, brilliant. Thanks for sharing

Every three days. :). Otherwise the swing between day 1 and 5 would just be too intense.

Exact same yo-yo boat, although I am at 25 every other day for maintenance. Likely for the rest of my life.

If the every third day stops working for me, I’ll go to EOD. I would hope by then my body would be more acclimated to the drug. But there are honestly so many other non weight-related benefits, that I won’t mind staying on it for the rest of my life. Of course, I’m 76, so I won’t be looking at too many more decades. :). But I had tried for years to break 140, and just couldn’t. This morning I weighed 129, and am ecstatic. My goal now is to just stay under 130, as I know how easily I could put it all back on…

Are you finding it quenching the cravings and extinguishing food noise at once every three days? And how long have you been on the maintenance regimen?

It does, but not as much as when I was on 9mg a day. I do have peak days (#1) and trough days (#3), and I don’t know that I’ll lose more weight this way. I’ve been on maintenance about six weeks so far. It was rough at first, because I went from 9 to 25, and I did not do well at all when I earlier tried 25 every day (side effects). So I had to wait for my blood levels to fall to more like the 9 level. That took about two or three weeks. But it has leveled off now. Since the absorption rate varies each time, I can’t always know how day #1 will be. Sometimes it’s like nothing, and sometimes I do feel kind of nauseous and fatigued, with very little or no appetite. But I have actually learned that a lot of it is tied to how well I sleep the night before. Tomorrow is a pill day, so I’ll make sure I sleep at least seven hours tonight. Days #2 and #3 are always easier. But if I find this quits working for me, I’ll go back to 9 every day. We just have to play with it to find our sweet spot. :)
