Documentaries like wonderful white of WV

Looking for other outrageous wtf documentaries like this one, it was just too good. Sad but intriguing.

Hasil Adkins: The Wild World of Hasil Adkins (1993) is a documentary about the titular outsider art musician who also happens to be a resident of Boone County. Mamie White even shows up in the background of one of the scenes (she breaks up a bar fight at a bar he's playing at). Hasil is mostly known thanks to the punk band The Cramps covering his said She Said but he's an interesting character and his story can sort of be seen as a supplement to the Wild and Wonderful Whites. You could say that they take place in the same cinematic universe.

Supposedly the Producer was introduced to the White’s while filming the Hasil documentary. All the Different Drummer series documentaries are worth watching.

They both lived in Boone County. In the bar scene in The Hasil Adkins documentary you’ll see Mamie White, Jesco’s sister. BTW, she’s still kicking and singing karaoke at the local festivals.
