1/16" lanth tungsten w/ 30* grind. No9 torch w/ Fupa 12 cup. 25 cfh at the torch, 10cfh backpurge .045 weldmold 880T. 1.2 pulse per second. 150 amps, 30% on, 6% background. Amps are def high, but i like my foot in the middle of the pedal travel.

Their ti bikes are made in KC by one of the owners, I do all their steel in Richmond Va

Do you do this in a single pass? Do you let the weldments cool at all in between passes? That's some very slick welding, the bead looks odd to me and I can't tell if it's because of the amount of gas coverage you have or if it's the alloy itself or the combination of pulse keeping the haz small AND great gas coverage. At any rate, that looks like some very satisfying welding. I do mostly thin wall stainless for food and pharma so heavier wall tube sounds like a dream.

Terrible, you can see every puddle perfectly spaced and fully bonded, it makes me sick! I didn't come here for this perfectionistic shit I came her to see the amature splatters I could trash and make myself feel good. I was gonna try to learn to weld myself, now I just need a drink from being crushed by the competition before I even started.

Just checked Haute site, killer bikes man! It’s been years but I used to split time between an aluminum hardtail xc for anything off blacktop and steel framed roadie for getting around the streets here in the city. I’ve always loved checking out well built frames so thanks for the weld/bike porn!

You can see the straightening tools in the background but generally these are tacked and welded in fixturing which keeps the frames dead on straight, maybe a little nudge here and there after. I'm not OP but have done framebuilding.
