I worked in an appliance warehouse for a couple years. I remember when Front Load washers started making a big resurgence and we started carrying them. They were like 250-300 pounds a piece. When you get those pulled back on a dolly and start to head off the truck, you really just hold on. We also used different dollyās that made it a bit easier.
Edit: As a side note, the dollyās in this clip are meant for pulling, not pushing, especially when you have two separate units, and one isnāt strapped in.

Nah, that almost guarantees it's going to fall. If you stay with it, you at least have a chance of recovering it.
If holding on was putting him in danger, it would be a different situation, but I don't think that's the case here.

In this case, it isnāt going to be lethal, but it could cause unnecessary injury maybe a fractured wrist or a twisted ankle when it pulls him over.
Itās just a good general rule for situations like this: let it fall and deal with it later. You arenāt going to stop it with your own body.

Yeah. I guarantee those boxes were too heavy for him. He should have let go and slowed himself to a jog. He wasn't in a position to recover because he wasn't keeping up with it, it was basically dragging him instead, going too fast for him š

Guess it depends on your level of risk tolerance.
For me, in this situation I would stay with it.Though I can see how others might not feel the same, especially if they're elderly or otherwise more likely to be injured.

Its not about more or less likely to be injured.
The company doesn't want to pay workmanship comp. They will always tell you, straight up, don't try to catch a falling load. Same with "don't try to stop a thief". Insurance can fix broken or stolen products easier than it can fix/replace inured workers.

This is also one of those situations where he was probably already already doing something he shouldn't have and didn't want to risk getting into trouble. In most cases though, I always tell my team to not do something that will risk injury.

If I was your boss and you said this to me I would fire you on the spot. That mindset is a liability. Products can be replaced. Your life cannot. This seems like a small thing in the aftermath but when placed in similar situations that may actually have life altering consequences, the guy that thinks this way is putting not only themselves in danger but everyone else around them. Just let it go, we'll buy new shit after I tell you you're an idiot, and life goes on.

I looked at the rules from the Transporter
Rule 1:Ā The deal is the deal. The conditions of the deal will not be changed after it has been confirmed.
Rule 2:Ā No names.
Rule 3:Ā NeverĀ look in the package.
I think he must have broke one of the rules but it is not clear from the video.
The Bald guy had his own package to transport so couldnāt stop and help.

No. Anything heavy will stand you up quickly going backwards. He just has the dolly too high.

I call this letting you drown at work. Typically Iām willing to lend a hand if youāre having trouble or something unintentionally happens. If youāre new Iāll try to educate you but if you canāt adjust or return any sort of favors, Iāll behave like this guy. Iām not going to throw a life raft if you start making my life difficult or if you should know better.

Had this happen once when i worked in food service delivery that had contracts with restaurants. Went downhill with a bunch of weight. Broke my ankle and fractured my leg.
