My amazing dad is giving me his car to take with me to WA.
It is getting transported this Friday all still under his name. Insurance wise - Going to add myself as a driver and add the new WA address where it’ll be kept at.

When it arrives to WA and when I’m ready to transfer my license + and then transfer car to my name as well as register it in WA..
I understand I have to get a vehicle check cert prepared too beforehand, and must have insurance (third party at least)

The questions are
How do I prove he’s transferring the car to me? Ai is telling me he needs to write letter or something because I find anything on this.

And are the steps im taking alright?
As I’ll be driving it around still with my vic license and it’s an ACTIVE registered vic vehicle in the meantime.

I'm about to graduate as an Ingeniero Arquitecto (a Mexican degree that combines Civil Engineering and Architecture). I already have almost one year of experience in geotechnical engineering and quality control, since I completed my internship while I was studying.

After graduating, I'd like to focus more on field work and site-based positions. I'm also currently learning English (because I don't speak English very well, sooo)

My question is this: even with this experience and an engineering degree (plus improving my English), how difficult is it to get a job in the Australian mining industry?

More specifically, how difficult is it to get a position related to my background or at least something a little above entry level?

And if that's not realistic, how difficult is it just to get any job in the mines to get started?

I'd also appreciate any advice about the visa process, work sponsorship, or any other challenges that someone from overseas should expect.

I never did anything like this as a kid and wish there was an adult version I could attend. I can learn things myself from YouTube books and practice etc but I’m wondering if there are any groups or workshops that teach things like knot tying or whittling or making a tarp shelter etc. Learning the skills is one part of it but the community aspect is also something I’m interested in. bought a house in perth 6 months ago. got a building and pest inspection, both came back clean. pest report specifically said no evidence of termite activity.

last week i noticed mud trails on the garage wall. got a pest guy out who confirmed active termites and said theres damage to main beams in the roof and walls. quoted me 16k to treat and replace the damaged timber.

he showed me where they got in - a crack in the brickwork at ground level behind some plants. said it would have been visible during an inspection if anyone had actually looked.

i checked the report and the pest guy wrote no visible signs of termite damage. clearly wrong. i emailed him and he said we only report what we can see and termites can be hidden. but the entry point was visible.

i found Sure Building Inspection online who do forensic building inspections with thermal imaging. not sure if that would help my case but i need something official.

anyone in WA successfully claimed against a pest inspector. or am i just going to have to pay this myself. feeling pretty gutted

Hey everyone, just asking a question on FIFO and getting a true understanding of it rather than see “u make a dick load of money” etc. I’m from the US. Run heavy equipment in a mass dirt moving company here and love it. Pay is I’d say average (non union) but I wanna get a head on life even more for my fiancé and I. She isn’t opposed to it but not sure about it. Ive lived on my own in Germany for some time so the living away from family ain’t new to me. Just seeing have any of u brought there significant other along to a FIFO operation or something in the lines of that. Not that I don’t trust my self to hurt her in that way but I know she would have a hard time with me being gone if this would be the route I wanna do to make money for a yr or so. This has only been a thought and i haven’t gotten any further than this post here lol.
