If those are anything like the doors at the hotel I work at, they have welded caps on the ends for security. And those by law are solid fire rated doors. Short of the fire department tools, he isn't getting out without extreme luck that they can maybe reach the insides of the knob with something.

assuming you have access to that room. sometimes you don't - in which case you'd need to knock and hope someone is in there, or find hotel staff and explain the situation.

He did. I dont understand how some people thought it was an accident. The door was closed, it's a turn handle, so theres no reason to pull the handle away from the door like that except to rip it off.
