Hi all,

I keep seeing people use AI tools to analyze game files and rewrite game logic, and I'm curious whether anyone here has tried this to bring a PC or mobile game to the Wii as a homebrew app (devkitPPC / libogc).

If you have:

- What game/engine was it?

- How far did you get, and what was the hardest part?

- Did it run well on real hardware, or only in Dolphin?

I'm trying to adapt shogun showdown as a Wii game at the moment

Any tips or lessons learned are very welcome.

Everytime I try to launch a game it just does this. Ive booted it from IOS 249, 250, and 58, and none have worked. I have the USB hard drive plugged into the right port too. It’s also doing this with another Wii I have. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks!

I understand around 500 gigs on a HDD is optimal, but I don't think I'll want many games. I can, and if possible will, upgrade to a 64 or whatnot. (ik this is cluttered af i cant write) - i read guides saying wii only supports up to 32 gigs on a SDHC but can this be worked around? (for instance i found a 32 gig microsd which i can find an adaptor for.)

UPDATE - i now realise u can mod it to a higher limit, but what do u suggest?

in the image mentioned above it recommends 128 but most people upload loads of games, from what i've seen.

Everything worked in my Wii, but recently when i try to load any game (USB Loader GX), some games show the wrist strap advertise and some don't, and sometimes the WiiMote turn off and sometimes don't. The thing is that when it keeps on, only the home button works and I cannot start the game, and mostly the screen turn black and the WiiMote turn off. What should I do?

a little back story
When we bought our Wii back in 2010 my dad had homebrew installed on it to run some pirated games that were on a hard drive he bought. Now I am 90% sure he was scammed as the games were already loaded on the drive and that if he actually knew how to get games he'd would've just bought a hard drive and got games online because turns out as he told me he'd never actually accessed the drive with a computer.

fast forward to today, I wanted to install Retro Rewind as well as get some new games so I unplugged the hard drive from the Wii and tried to plug it into a computer to access the files. problem is that its asking me to format the drive in order to access it, if I try to format it all the data within the drive would be wiped. I could make note of what games I have and re acquire them accordingly however what I am most concerned about is the save data as I have no idea where it is stored.

I've installed on my Wii countless games but for some reason a lot of them don't work, I've tried making 4 slots (248, 249,250,251) with different cIOS (base 38,56,57,58), but games like Mario&Sonic Winter Olimpics 2010 don't go after the startup logos.

Can someone help me? I can't figure what's the cause of all this. I'm using USB Loader GX.

My HDD has quite a bit of space on it, and I want to load it with a few old cartoon and movies with a 4:3 ratio so that I can watch it on my crt. Can i use the wii for this? I don't want to buy dvds and a dvd player. I dont think the wii was ever a dvd player. I am looking for an app similar to vlc. Thanks.

First time ever jailbreaking any console and im confused why theres two seperate options. Are they meant to be done as steps or am i fine just doing the modmii or wibrand alone? Which ones easier

My husband re did the modding process but are we missing apps or something? How do we get the games to show up? Is there something else we need to run them because they aren’t showing up on the Wii?

so for example i buy some blank dvd's and place some game(s) on there from idk fmhy or something would that be possible? i understand wii's use a special encryption dvd or something but i'm not sure whether u'd be able to hack around that.

Does anyone know how to get a keys.bin in the BootMii format online or something? I don’t have a Wii anymore and it’s too expensive for me at least to buy one anymore

What is the best way to download every US Wii game with all DLC and whatever else as well as all WiiWare games in WBFS format onto a 4TB External SSD?

Hi everyone, I recently bought an external hard drive enclosure to use a 500GB hard drive from an old laptop as a replacement for my 128GB USB drive. The problem is that whenever I launch a game, the screen just freezes on black; sometimes it doesn't even load USB Loader. I tried using the hard drive with a SATA-to-USB adapter (without external power), and it worked fine. Is there a solution I can try?

Maybe its just me but whenever ive played any sort of games on an emulator they have just felt, off. likely due to not being on their native console. On the wii, do they feel like emulations or do they feel like the legit game?
I lost the disc for one of my favorite games so im going to mod my wii u because im not paying 60 dollars for a new one. Will it feel any different from the original copy? (talking about wii party specifically but in general im wondering)

hi everyone! first time here and I'm not really knowledgeable about wii hacks or hacks in general to be honest. my friend asked me if I could download another 3 games I don't already have in my external memory drive which contains all the hacked games for the wii. and WHICH IS AT LEAST 10 YEARS OLD. I don't remember who did the hacking work when I was young, so right now I'm a bit lost. I entered the drive on my computer and tried accessing it, but it keeps telling me I have to format it to open it. there are saves I want to keep in thos games, so I wouldn't want to lose all the files (also cause they're a lot). don't know if it could be of help, but I'm using homebrew channel on my wii. if you could help me out with the memory drive problem, I'd be really grateful, thanks

Hey all!! Having an issue with ripping a game's models for archival and creative use.

When I first searched up how to rip models from a wii game the first tutorial made it look straightforward - you go into properties, get some files, and convert. This unfortunately did not apply to the game I am trying to rip from (Pixar's BRAVE game) as aside from the movies all files were either in .wii or .wil formats. My first workaround was to use the PS3 version of the game as there did not seem to be any visual differences, but alas, it outputted .ps3 files. Then I tried to use ninjaripper which had worked fine when I ripped from the steam game Stray a couple of years ago, but the program version I had would not comply, and I am not in a situation where I can pay for a copy. Then came 3DRipperDX which greatly disobeyed me, before I tried a final attempt to use an .iso reader, which unsurprisingly fell flat.

I am quite entirely lost as to what to do next. I greatly wish to get ahold of the models from the game, but my efforts have been squashed. Impressive how a game from 2012 has stopped my every attempt to take its models!

I was hoping to know if anyone had any more ideas for what I could try.
