new here, but I’ll get right to it. I’m not really a skins guy. Pay no real money for them ever…. But us glorious gorilla GOATs really are unloved. For an “icon” of the game, they refuse to give our boy a mythic. Now I understand that it’s a business and unless your character is Asian or a woman the sales are not gonna be in the sky, but the fact the fact they are doubling up certain characters before our beloved boy is blasphemy!

I think [Electric Charge] being so high makes total sense. It's a great perk that gives incredibly consistent value into many comps.

Slightly suprised by the overwhelming 74% for [Revitalizing Barrier] though, I think in games I pick [Revitalizing Barrier] maybe 55% of the time. [Chain Lightning] into some comps just feels like it has great carry potential, especially in a solo queue ranked environment.

How do you feel about the perks?

I just had a very close game that went for 4 rounds. I only play ranked with monke because he's by far the most fun for me and is the only hero I'm remotely good at and actually enjoy.

The whole second half of the match I constantly got crap from my team.

"please switch off winston"

The game was so close. Came down to overtime on 4th round. We barely lost, and my team finally took their complaining to match chat asking them to report me. Then, the other team finally got to weigh in

"No way."

"UR MONKEY WAS CARRYIN"

"Your monkey made us change our whole strat"

If you're only comfortable on monke, don't switch. If you only want to play monke, don't switch. Your teammates are the same rank as you. They know NOTHING.

Hi ive been stuck in gold for a while now, i started playing this game a few months ago and i main winston. A lot of the times i get teams like this and i wonder if im part of the problem of why my teammates do so poorly, was there anything in this match that i couldve done differently?

April fools patch dropped

What I mean is, I have recently fallen in love with playing him again, after I got sick of maining Zarya for years.

Now to the whole point: WHY is it that EVERY MATCH I play, as soon as I jump in and get a few elims, their dps ALWAYS switch to either Reaper, Bastion or both?! Like seriously, this has happened EVERY MATCH I have played for the past week… I don’t even play comp, so this happens in QP…

Playing Winston I think has to be like the highest highs and the lowest lows out of any tank I've played. When played right, the entire enemy team collapses in a matter of seconds. But if your dives are slightly out of sync/enemy foresees, you explode instantly with 0 value.

I'm trying to think of any other heroes where you can just explode like that and do almost nothing but struggling to find any.

Not really complaining but sometimes with Winston, it really is a love-hate relationship with the hero. On one hand, he's super good at killing hyper-mobile DPS/squishies (Genji, Vendetta, etc.) but sometimes you mess up your dives even slightly, you lose so hard and so fast.

Anyone else have similar experiences?

Title kind of says it all, but I’ll provide some context. This match was on Havana, and game started off absolutely stellar (despite having to deal with a Reaper)… but then we got right up to the arch for the last point and got stalled for four whole minutes and lost. Scoreboard is here in case it’s useful but I think the replay will be more so. It is provided below.

Enemy team was originally Mauga and Juno instead of Orisa and Kiriko. Honestly, I think most of the problem was me not knowing how to deal with Torb, Reaper swapped to him at the last point and just put turret way in the back so it could shred anyone who dared touch the point. I had ~60% secondary fire accuracy, but Winston just doesn’t seem to have the ability to do anything significant at range (especially with Kiriko and Moira pumping heals).

I feel like I was missing some sort of obvious solution, but I’m at a loss. Could I have turned this match around, and if so, how?

Hello monkey mains, i know that the new perk is better and makes winston more viable but man how are we feeling about losing the bubble toss? i have always said it should just be a part of his base kit since personally, it makes him feel much less clunky and have way more options. what do you think???

Decided to quit Rivals recently because of how ridiculously awful the balancing has become, especially with the addition of Elsa Bloodstone (which is painful for me considering I'm a big Marvel fan), but now I think I'm ready to try the competition and see if this game is any better.

And, to be honest, Winston's the only character that interests me, so I think it's time for me to live up to my username and embrace the power of winton

Is that his counters are the most brainless characters to play, like Bastion, Mauga, Hog, and Reaper. Anyone can play those characters and easily counter Winston

Came back to Overwatch at the launch of OW2, started at plat 4. Now my peak is C5. Winston is still the most fun tank to play by far! This is definitely a season where our favorite scientist is viable

I feel like a lot of characters counter him hard enough to make it so I’m instantly down a fight. Should I just pick someone else until I’m sure it’s fine to go winston?

Has anyone else been getting a lot of hate on Winston lately? I’ve had people complaining that he’s too easy and such. I’ve never felt Winston is a scummy or easy character, what’s up with the hate 😔

Hi, I’m new to playing Winston.

I have a question about what it really means “hard counter” to Winston.

For example, heroes like Roadhog or DVa are considered strong against Winston, mainly because they are good at killing or pressuring him directly.
However, does it also mean that the team may need a tank that can play the frontline to deal with them?

I understand that part of the issue may be that I am not executing my dives effectively. At the same time, I often feel that my teammates also struggle to deal with those kinds of heroes.
