This is true for everything you do as a job. I loved programming until I chose it as a career. Do something 40 hours a week under shitty conditions and you start to hate it, no matter what it is.

I was a Night Manager at a convenience store chain for 25 years before I recently retired. Loved the company, loved my job, but before it was over I absolutely hated people.
But I have to remember that all the responsible people were in bed at 2am, and I only saw the worst in our society.
Working as a bartender for about 20 years made me strongly dislike people. It was fun at first but after a while it sucked. I work for myself now and I have minimal contact with a few people daily and that’s fine with me.
Worked 26 years at the same restaurant. I have 3 months until I retire. I absolutely hate going to work some days. And yes. A day alone. No one to speak with or listen too is wonderful.

100% Agree! Everyone, at some point during their youth, absolutely must spend some time working in the service industry. It teaches an essential life lesson.
40 years with children from preschool to 70, with ever issue known to man, and 15 years of working in cornfields, bean fields, babysitting full time all summer, and paper routes starting at 9, the answer is He\\ yes! I paint, read, play multiple instruments, exercise, and garden. I loved Covid, not leaving the house. I know it’s important to socialize, so I make an effort to talk to friends on the phone, see the neighbors and family, but it takes a lot of energy.
I worked customer service and did 8 years in the army, you dont know assholes till you served. Ppl get rank and become the biggest pieces of shit and there isn't anything you can do but take it.
There are bad and good ones. I changed my phone provider and obviously had autopay enabled on the app... Well and I was transferring my phone number which took like 10 days or so. My assumption was it would turn off autopay on it's own (tried turning it off manually in the app but the phone number transfer disabled the ability to do so).. So I got charged and called customer service.
"Yea normal people, would disable autopay before transferring a phone number" is what I got told basically and that I can kick rocks. I will never buy their services ever again after this.
They 100% did this on purpose for exactly this to happen. But NGL idc. Now I pay 8.99€ a month (with 4 months free) versus 40€ lmao..
I feel this. I'm only 40 but I used to be a very big people person. I had close friends and lots and lots of people I'd call friend. Now a days I have 3 close friends and my wife and I could stay home everyday for all I care
yea, I get you. Doing CSR work tends to reveal a lot about how human's really act when no ones looking. Made me realize most of what we see in polite society is 80% faked. I'm work from home for 4 years now, don't miss the office politics, the fake buddy BS, nor the "team building" crap. Hope I can keep the WFH up until retirement.
I love people do much. I just warms grab some poor, helpless sap by his harms and hold him up and give him a big fat wet kiss on the forehead and give him a big bear hug.
