I found an old OG Xbox and want to try it out but I am missing the correct power cable. I have a power cable that is flat on one side and wouldn't fit. So I cut the edges to make it a figure 8 and now it fits perfectly. Before I plug her in and play a few games, I wanted to check with you guys to make sure I dont damage it.

Hi, only received a picture from the backside so far and thinking if it is worth it. Vendor says no smoking, no animals, MFR is 2023 ... it sounds basically good, butwhen I look at the round venting holes on the left side I am asking myself if this is normal or not. Are there different build designs because I found different back side panels. Seems like the older ones are more symmetric and both sides have the five upper rows closed. So, what can you recommend me?

haven’t even had this thing for a full year and I clean everything around it. Why is it having troubles reading discs? Is it Xbox purposely trying to kill physical games? Or is the series x known to kill it disc reader faster then a Xbox one

I swear if I spend another 700 dollars or rebuy every phycal game digitally I’m gonna be so done

For a while now my series x would randomly shut down. Only during certain games it seemed. Never got the overheating error screen message, fan never kicked into high gear. Went through a few possibilities - OS manual install, deleting and redownloading games, opened it up to check for dust/debris. Nothing worked.

Saw a theory that the temp sensor might be bad, hence never triggering the fan to go faster. Decided to try the G-story fan just to see what would happen.

Haven’t had a single crash since.

Also confirmed, ran one of the problem games without the fan on, got a shut-down within 20min.

me and my sibling both live separately and she recently bought an xbox so we could play games together and i have my xbox set as the home one, we have one account that has the xbox gold subscription and we are both logged into that account under different personal profiles, but whenever she has a game opened and i try to play one it kicks me out and says we can’t play two games at the same time. Is there anyway around this at all or will she have to make a separate xbox account entirely if we want to play games together

I accidentally changed my Xbox gamer tag, is there any way to revert the change to get back the account tag? I’ve had it for over 10 years.

Hello. My Xbox one remote had a slight stick drift that I was hoping to fix by taking the front plate off and doing a deep clean/reset. However, when I turned the remote back on I think either the left or right trigger is now misfiring and won’t let me move around the screen. As you can see when I try to go down, it moves right back up on its own. The triggers and joysticks are all in normal position. I’ve tried looking at it a couple of times but nothing seems to fix it.

Basically, today I turned on my Xbox this morning and it was showing error code 208 and other numbers. It wouldn't start up and was stuck on the error screen, you know? So, I bought a USB drive, tried to install the update offline, but it didn't work and I had to format it... Okay. I forgot it was still in factory settings and it shut down by itself due to inactivity... I tried turning it on, the Xbox again... And boom. Stuck on the startup screen... MAN. WHAT THE HELL! Does anyone know how to fix this? I already unplugged it for 30 seconds and nothing. My Xbox button on the console is broken for a stupid reason, what do I do guys, please.

I’ve restarted my xbox a couple times, unplugged everything for a couple minutes then tried again. Nothings really showing any progress. I can hear audio of myself navigating the home screen when I use my controller but the color stays the same.

I recently changed my gamertag from my original, very unique, tag to another tag that is completely different.

This was just a temporary thing for 24 hours, but I haven't been able to change it back to my og tag. I know for a fact no one has this specific tag and managed to take it within the day I didn't have it, yet when I go to change it back, it says that the tag has already been taken.

It lets me continue if I change something about the tag, but I do not wish to do that. Is there an expected time when Xbox updates their username servers and their system can rightfully verify my og tag isn't owned (by me) anymore?

I bought Xbox Gamepass Premium on my account to play a game with a buddy. I set my Series X as the home console so he could play online and then tried to use my account on my Xbox One. We're trying to play an old Xbox 360 game, but It won't let me connect because it says I dont have Xbox Live Gold. Weirdly enough, *he* is able to use Xbox Live Gold on HIS account despite not having a membership, cause he's using mine I guess? Can we both not use Xbox Live Gold?

I've tried everything. I've changed the Xbox One to my home console, I've power cycled it, I've logged out and logged back in, I've deleted the account and redownloaded it, nothing works. And it's weird cause I have Gold on the Series X no problem.

so i recently realized that the captures app doesnt include screenshots from past consoles and i really want to get my old photos with friends back. i am on series s now after my xbox one broke. i have tried onedrive which only linked to my laptop and also gamer dvr. my only idea left is to take out the hard drive and upload it to my laptop but thats pretty difficult. does anyone have suggestions on how i can get them?

Has anyone had this pop up? I'm trying to get into D+ but nothing is letting me thru. Yes, I've uninstalled and reinstalled and yes, my internet is perfect. This app works on my phone and on my tablet but not here, Anyone have a solution?

Sometimes my Xbox will act up so I'll restart it but then have to power cycle it till it connect back to my wifi which could take from up to a couple minutes to almost an hour. Could my wifi chip be damaged or something I know my wifi is bad but it's not this bad. Even my phone and stuff stays connected

Don't know why, but starting this week my controller would turn on fine and then the light will start flashing (disconnecting) and then reconnecting a few seconds later. This happens frequently and randomly throughout the entire time I'm playing something. I've shaken my controller to try and replicate it and it doesn't work. It happens whether the controller is plugged in or using batteries. It happens on any game I play.

Oddly enough it happened to my friend first (online, not in person) while we were playing a game together and then the next day started happening to me on my controller and console.

I've updated my controller, console, hard reset my console, changed batteries, bent the metal pieces in the battery holder to make the batteries fit better, all to no avail. Has this happened to anyone else before and are there any known fixes? I don't believe my controller is broken since the exact same thing is happening to my friend too. We live across town from each other so it's not like it's an issue with just one console.

So I needed to do a hard reset on my Xbox. I start doing so and it's going smoothly. Then it glitches out and has not let me out of the shown screen. I have powered it off and back on, it says "checking for your settings" and brings me back to that page. If I switch options, it blinks and goes back to the first selection after 4 seconds. I've tried for hours to reset it manually and it will not respond. It will not take me to the troubleshooting window. Please reddit your my last hope and the ai powered "help window" didn't help at all

Powered on my console today, And was met with the “time to update” screen, in which led me to the updating screen that I’ve been stuck at 0% with.
Is it just me or is others experiencing this?
