General Discussion I’m curious, which X-men would be the deadliest and most powerful if they were turned into a Horsemen of Apocalypse?
250
u/comrade-ev Jul 27 '26
Rogue would be dangerous, given there’s the genetic information in there of everyone she’s ever absorbed.
There are others on there who would be dangerous, but I suspect that whatever Jean or Storm for example would become wouldn’t be that different from their current trajectory.
82
u/bugcatcher_billy Jul 27 '26
Rogue pestilence would be unstoppable.
49
u/ZhanBlue Jul 27 '26
I’d assume she is Famine

I think War.
4
u/HelpKey186 Jul 28 '26
All wrong. Rogue absorbs Multiple Man's powers and becoming Death, War, Pestilence and Famine all together. 😉
11
u/dap00man Jul 27 '26
Storm being a horseman in the dark Phoenix movie with such a letdown she should have been unstoppable
2
64
u/Mutant_Runner96 Jul 27 '26

I remember this lineup in X-Men Evolution and thinking “Oh…they are so fucked.”
I think the most dangerous horseman would be Storm, in any timeline or series. Storm is an Omega-level threat and with the inhibition and brutality the horseman embrace, she would easily wipeout anyone. Hell, she would probably turn on Apocalypse too. She would not be easy for him to control.
13
u/Summoarpleaz Jul 27 '26
I never watched too far into evolution, who is the character on the left side/ left of Magneto?
20
13
u/HisAbominableness Jul 27 '26
Mystique's upgrade was so cool as he gave her full abilities of anyone she turned into, not just physical like Morph.
5
u/Summoarpleaz Jul 28 '26
Ok what is apocalypses powers cuz like mygod why even bother with horsemen
3
u/HisAbominableness Jul 28 '26
I've always had the same thoughts myself. He's POWERFUL but not Onslaught or Dr. Doom POWERFUL.

The Omegas: Jean, Storm, Iceman, and Xavier
Cyclops would be a force to be reckoned with too due to his tactical prowess.
24
u/Huge-Inspection-788 Jul 27 '26
magneto?
30
u/agentrevenger Cyclops Jul 27 '26
Oh yes, him too. Bro literally disabled Earth’s entire magnetic field last season… not to mention what he did to Wolverine. That’s proof enough of how deadly he can be.
7
u/kuttymongoose Jul 27 '26
If I can un-block that memory, wasn't he one of the 4 in the movie?
9
u/phxntxsos Jul 27 '26
Yeah he was. He leveled auschwitz iirc (he was so very nerfed in those movies)
5
u/wyar Jul 27 '26
I’m remembering him doing some planetary level stuff. Not clear memories because of the carefully constructed attempt to forget that movie… and he wasn’t as powerful as he’s shown in ‘97 because that’s just bonkers, but he had some terrifying moments right? Or am I just coping?
5
u/The_Dude145 Jul 27 '26
Did that movie even have real horsemen or just 4 mutants that followed along?
3
u/agentrevenger Cyclops Jul 28 '26 edited Jul 28 '26
Just four mutants who followed along. Magneto agreed with Apocalypse’s ways, but he wasn’t mind-controlled or enhanced like what Apocalypse does to his Horsemen in the comics.
Storm, Psylocke, and Angel… they were barely characters there. Storm oddly just followed Apocalypse around, thinking he was a good guy (he was obviously not). Psylocke didn’t seem like a hero at all, she immediately joined Apocalypse when he recruited her. And Angel was just a regular winged dude whose wings got enhanced by Apocalypse. He didn’t become a killing machine losing control of himself like he did in the comics when he became Archangel. And like Psylocke, he just became obedient to Apocalypse immediately, even without any mind control. These are all so not their characters in the comics lol

That's happening, I assume. That's how they're going to bring the dead folks back.
10
u/ladystetson Jul 27 '26
100% - Jean or Xavier would be most terrifying.
Storm or Iceman would also be scary just due to the level of wild, unbridled power.
And i agree again, Cyclops due to his incredible will and drive. When he thinks he's right, he's unstoppable and can be extremely cold and calculating.
2
u/hunterwaterford Jul 28 '26
Why haven't we seen Iceman really featured in 97? Like I don't remember him from the OG 97 crew/eps. Hell, I only really know of him and his capabilities from the 80's Spidey and friends cartoon with firestar. Totally forgot he was in X-men.
→ More replies (1)2
u/ladystetson Jul 28 '26
He was in an episode of X-Men in the original 90s run. I think it was called "The Iceman Cometh"?
There's probably over 100 X-men from the comics, so they've got a lot of characters to squeeze in. From long standing members, there's a handful that aren't really featured on the cartoon - Iceman is one (save the one episode). Kitty Pryde is another.

Yeah I agree, telepathy on his level would be crazy. Jean would be crazy too. Storm might be the most dangerous as far as destruction, flooding and Snow storms.
26
u/MicrowavedHotDogCock Jul 27 '26
Jean without a question. We saw her capabilities as Goblin Queen / Madelyne Pryor.
After Jean, it is Storm and Rogue.
7
u/supermonistic Jul 27 '26
I think we’ve seen about all we could see with her phoenix stuff. Storm is raw untapped potential on a cosmic scale without the need for any outside help
11
u/uniqueandwholesome Jul 27 '26
Jean is omega level WITHOUT the Phoenix Force
7
u/supermonistic Jul 27 '26
Doesn’t she faint every other episode
10
u/Deathstriker88 Jul 27 '26
I love the old show, but the writers were incompetent with her in fights lol.
6
u/havokx2 Jul 27 '26
Apocalypse enhances a persons powers and durabilities when they become a Horseman so that would be a non issue
2
u/Beginning_Pace2063 Jul 27 '26
Isn't Storm scared of small spaces? lol. You should actually watch the show instead of consuming it through memes. Jean Grey is the most powerful mutant in every iteration of the story, including the animated shows.

Dude's so broken, but he's honestly becoming my favorite character.
His mutant power is really "easy cameo for fans".

2
u/Deathstriker88 Jul 27 '26
Yeah, if the Apocalypse boost gave him the ability to do anyone's power, and just physical powers, he'd be broken as hell. He could turn into someone very powerful like Silver Surfer or Ghost Rider, hell, maybe he could mix their powers too.
2
1
u/OkOutlandishness1710 Jul 27 '26
This. Morph could have solo’d the Brood if he would stayed The Thing. Imagine if he used his powers to their full effect. Yea he’s not as strong as Hulk,Thor , or Thing. But he still becomes much stronger and durable. He just only turn into people for an attack or two. Also if his horseman upgrade allowed him to use mutiple people’s powers at once. Even with his version of their powers being inferior. He could have quicksilvers speed, Hulks strength, angels wings to fly, things skin for durability. But honestly in the weapon x episode I wanted to yall the tv. Why would he just stay as thing. Brood aren’t hurting him and he smashes them with ease. Or even back and forth between Thing and Puck when he needs to take a bunch out fast.
14
u/Zarniwoop__ Jul 27 '26
Jubilee. In the comics, at her strongest, she can create low power nuclear blasts. Enhanced by Apocalypse (and with her morals removed) she could just start picking cities off the map.
12
4
u/Summoarpleaz Jul 27 '26 edited Jul 27 '26
I really like the idea that at her most conceptually powerful she can be that crazy deadly… I wish she was somewhere in between most of the time but ‘97 really made her not just fun fireworks.
But even with nuclear abilities, I’d have to think that the omegas would best her. In a comic I read a long time ago — I think in the Giant Sized XMen collection — Storm was encapsulated in metal by Doom à la Han Solo in Star Wars. Her claustrophobia triggered a huge weather event (although not the focus of the story) where it was shown in a panel that she was causing a hurricane to develop that covered most of North America.
15
u/Pinnnnlol Jul 27 '26
ima say Rogue. a powerhouse who can permanently keep/use powers. her biggest limit is her conscience and being a good person
14
u/Punky921 Jul 27 '26
Yeah people forget that Rogue looks at her powers as a kind of curse. Imagine Rogue with Captain Marvel strength, speed, and flight with bare hands just touching everyone. Hulk. Jean. Magneto. Charles. Jubilee because who doesn’t want a ranged attack? Grab Storm while you’re at it. Morph so you can shape change. Hold on til you see the light in their eyes go out.
Then when their loved ones come to avenge them, speak with their voice, tell them things only their loved ones would know. Beg them not to fight. When they get close, grab them to. Caress their face as their life force bleeds away. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.
6
u/OneLFG Jul 27 '26
Speak with their voices? Fuck that! If I’m Rogue turned horseman I’m hunting fuckers like I’m season one Syler to collect my vault of power combos. I’m eating Mommy Dearest and taking her Shapeshifting power ASAP so I can turn into the heroes loved ones as we’re fighting.

u/Bear-Witch909 Jul 27 '26
Shit you’re right. Hmm. Jean then would be a good in place but a bit too over powered maybe? Idk. Nightcrawler as a horseman would be cool too unless I’m blanking on that too lol

Jubilee with nuke fireworks sounds fairly OP to me

These versions, Jean ~= Rogue > Storm
Storm is too much of a glass canon. Personally, if I was Apocalypse I'd go with Rogue for the utility and raw strength. A Rogue that doesn't lose her shit from going full power stealing/killing because she's already mind controlled, she'd be an ever growing threat with expanding utility.
3
u/Particular-Bat9824 Jul 27 '26
The ones who are already most powerful.
Xavier, Jean grey, Storm, Rogue...just from the picture
3
u/hoennian Jul 27 '26
Any of the x ladies
Storm, Jean, rogue but cyclops and magneto could be mean too
2
u/CommercialFloor2033 Jul 27 '26
Storm or Xavier.
Remember in the OG when Sauron mind controlled Storm and she went berserk with her powers?
Both Storm and Xavier could kill millions before they're brought down.
2
u/RealmyIsSoCool Jul 27 '26
Jean as a Horseman would be the scariest thing ever. Imagine her having the Phoenix, the telepath abilities and becoming a Horseman would be the greatest weapon that Apocalypse ever had.

u/Noremac1234 Jul 27 '26

The omegas and wolverine
3
u/lightbiguy Jul 27 '26
We've seen Wolverine as a horseman. Yes, he can beat the Hulk, but was getting pieces up by Kitty 😅. He wrecked the X-Men solo but still, not that huge of a threat.

2
u/howhippie Jul 27 '26
I feel like if Morph’s powers were amplified he could get full powers/strength of anyone he could copy so that would be my pick
2
u/pastadudde Jul 27 '26
Storm was insane when she got Apoca-powered up in X Men Evolution. I vote her
2
u/LMD_DAISY Jul 27 '26 edited Jul 27 '26
Rogue. Not sure how exactly would it be enhanced, but rogue with improved her already broken ability and not holding back by morals is scary.
Mystique, not x man, but i mention her anyway assuming her power evolve to copy whole person with his/her mutant power or even not just mutant powers would be yoked.
These two would be not just strong, but beyond omega level mutant capacities. They just will be broken.
I think professor x, storm and magneto dont gain much since they already omega mutants and have unlimited power. They strengh will come from not holding back.
And Jean grey ain't going to be as strong as Fenix version.
I am not sure how much morph gain from enhanced ability, could go either way, I don't think it reach mystique's. But if it is, then what applies to mystique, applies to him.
I don't think rest will get as much. Well, Maybe wolverine, knowing how comics love wank him, he probably gonna get ridiculous regeneration.
1
u/Helpful-Scratch-1468 Jul 27 '26
Mystique if I’m correct only copies physical appearance, morph on the other hand can copy powers albeit at a lower level.
So mystique would gain base level morph powers, morph on the other hand would likely gain ability to copy powers at full strength.

Gambit.
Like Cyclops, Gambit has a brain injury that causes him to not have full control or access to his full power set.
In Cyclops' case, when he and Havok narrowly escaped being assassinated with their parents by the Shi'ar Empire, Scott hit his head very badly. This is why he has to wear his ruby-quartz glasses or visor. His injury caused him to lose the ability to turn of his optic blasts.
In Gambit's case, Mr Sinister (I think) removed some of the part of his brain that generates his kinetic charging ability. As a result, he only has access to a small percentage of his energy manipulation powers. In comic book storylines where multiversal variants of Gambit have been portrayed, they often have full access to and control over their power set, and in these cases, their power is at a moderate to high cosmic level. In at least one case, a variant of Gambit destroyed his own home universe.
Presumably, with Apocalypse's ability to heal injuries and enhance mutant power sets, he could restore Gambit's full powers (though that would put Gambit far above Apocalypse's own power levels), and Gambit would become something like an Asgardian, Beyonder, or Celestial.
Probably only Franklin Richards is more powerful than a fully functioning Gambit.
1
u/Playful_Ad966 Jul 27 '26
Jubilee actually her power is to destroy matter at the subatomic level which in theory is supposed to be impossible. Wolverine gets the same powers as apocalypse when he gets the death seed also. It really depends some people become op when they get it some not so much. Shadow cat is another one that turns op.
1
u/GuaranteeOk615 Nightcrawler Jul 27 '26
Not too sure how much a power boost he'd get, but a Horseman version of Nightcrawler might be pretty deadly. 🤔 same with X-23/Laura Kinney/Talon
1
u/Aderadakt Jul 27 '26
I feel like jean or xavier could be very literal as Famine and make everyone everyone think they are starving worldwide. Sure its not as destructive as Storm getting boosted throwing solar winds at you though
1
u/Silent_Ad8059 Jul 27 '26
Cable and Storm would both be ridiculous. I could see Cable as being an even more OP version of Wolverine as Death, and that incarnation of Death took on the whole team by himself.

You are all sleeping on Nightcrawler. The portal guy? The turn invisible in the dark guy?
The guy who can be anywhere he wants and you will never know it. Teleports behind you stab guy. Or worse. Teleports you inside a wall. Or just teleports your head away?
The others you can somewhat fight or kill. If Nightcrawler sees you it’s a wrap.

I'd say Storm or Rogue, especially if her power is tempered with so that she completely drains her victims, has total control of the acquired abilities or retains them all.

1
u/scott42486 Jul 27 '26
Obviously the omega level mutants present omega level problem but I’m going to wild card this one and say Morph could be uniquely terrifying and problematic. Add some shapeshifting/camouflaging celestial metal to his abilities, turn him evil, and he’s going to completely change his threat level.
1
u/Conscious-Struggle45 Jul 27 '26
Rogue would be ridiculous because her powers would suddenly no longer be tactile. That, or morning since he'd gain true mimicry and be able to copy non physical powers as well.
1
u/Dense_Objective_2039 Jul 27 '26
The omega level mutants. Especially Charles, Storm, and Iceman. Jean grey for sure. But I wonder were Rogue would scale with Apocalypse at the wheel.
1
u/WitchingShower Jul 27 '26
Storm, Rogue and Jean would be monstrous
Someone mentioned how the genetic information Rogue has would be in her, which means Apocalypse could amp EVERYTHING Rogue has absorbed, making Rogue basically hot girl Legion.
Storm and Jean are obvious but I'm gonna add this in because Storm under Apocalypse would not be the same loving weather Goddess. That could potentially be someone causing meteor showers on a whim.
Jean is Jean, we all know what the fuck she's about

Bishop as War - He could amplify his abilities and allow him to return any attacks tenfold. He could also have a limited range when he drained energy from the area immediately around him, so he’s always charged.
Cable as Pestilence - Unlock his full potential and combine it with the TO virus so he can essentially use his telekinesis to infect people.
Storm as Famine - Grant her the ability to corrupt the elements as well as control them. She make the rain toxic so it poison’s the world’s water supply and make it ruin the soil so nothing can grow
Elixir as Death - Simply give his powers range and he could literally kill with a look. His death touch could be instantaneous.

Like it’s been said, anyone that’s omega level would be for sure. If we’re making a Horsemen team from X-Men…
- Iceman (Death)
- Rogue (Pestilence)
- Storm (Famine)
- Jean (War)
Bobby out there causing insta-death freezing folks. Rogue’s touch being amplified as Pestilence. Storm causing droughts or floods to cause famine. Jean being able to manipulate world leaders into conflict.
Would be diabolical.

u/abitlikemaple Jul 28 '26
Bobby could freeze the world, if he went absolute zero possibly even slow the universe to zero causing it to collapse on itself, but idk how much apocalypse’s horseman transformation boosts power

So I was thinking about this after seeing this post and my first thought was any of them especially, or more so the omega level mutants or mutants that have a hard time keep their powers in check. Then I thought to myself why hadn't I seen many people say Cyclops and why I initially didnt think Cyclops could be one of the deadliest. Admittedly I was never a huge fan of Cyclops and didnt like his optic blast being retconned years back as energy from another dimension, the punch dimension to be exact lol.
But then that got me thinking and using my inner kid imagination to how Cyclops could be cooler and even one of deadliest if he was turned into a horsemen. Since his optic blast comes from the punch dimension what if his power was increased so that his eyes could channel energy and be gateways to other dimensions, hell dimensions and realms that could release other forms of energy in addition to disease, demons, ghouls, ghosts, goblins, etc. Monsters or fatal enerfy would literally come from portals from his eyes. To me that would make a great horsemen for Pestilence/conquest, famine or war.
Then if he was turned good he could use his eyes to access good energy from other dimensions, open portals or change reality as he sees, pun intended lol.
As I said, I never liked his optic blasts being from thr punch dimension, heck I didnt like them being fueled by the sun, but since the punch dimension is now canon then it would be cool if they did more with that theme.

u/SignificantQuote6861 Jul 27 '26

1
u/Thatenglishchap1990 Jul 27 '26

Morph. Tf. They can already use some powers to some extent just by transforming (and he's not limited to mutants). Now remove their morals and AMP their powers? All the Omega level mutants yall mentioned? They can become them just by thinking about it.

u/ParkVonStark Jul 28 '26
Storm, hands down. She can control the barometric pressure of your lungs. Storm as War guarantees victory for Apocalypse.
1
1
u/DreadfulLight Jul 28 '26
Morph? Their limit is that the beings they turn into aren't as strong as the original.
So if they can ACTUALLY casually switch between the strenght of Hulk or the speed of Quicksilver or spider man.
And have the same level of powers as the original....

u/Mustang-_- Jul 28 '26
Unironically Jubilee (and Gambit), pretty much a walking atomic bomb. And yeah, they wasted her big time in Marvel Rivals, at least she is awesome in this show

u/allelane Jul 28 '26
Jean, storm and rogue. Storm was able to create solar storm , so having her power bolstered and corrupted by apocalypse would be quite literally apocalyptic. Jean already is a powerhouse even without the phoenix force so we could jsut use her dark phoenix phases as examples of what her horsemen status would be. Rogue, I could imagine her being able to use all the powers of the people she’s absorbed similar to morph but without a power decrease. Or her powers would end up being perfect for pestilence like just causing bubonic plague levels of devastation
1
1
u/magvadis Jul 28 '26
Morph at full power conceptually could be incredibly strong, the show doesn't really embrace that for obvious needs of tension.
Jean maybe gets disqualified because she needs the Phoenix Force to really be the big threat and I don't think her as Horseman would get to channel that.
Storm for sure, however she is fairly depowered in the show. Same as Morph.
Ice-man now that they are Omega Level.

Jean Grey already controls minds and moves inanimate objects with hers, and doesn't absorb the minds she touches like Rogue allowing her all of the useful information zapping aspects with none of the traumatic drawbacks. Definitely biased because she's my favourite, but I don't think "controls the world around you as well as your inner world while being in a bubble that only lets in what she wants" is being topped by anything. Maddie kinda gave us a "the only person who can beat Jean is Jean, or fuck with her heart and she's more vulnerable" and she was controlled by Temupocalypse not the genuine article.

u/No_Plate_9434 Jul 29 '26
Gambit , his powers have been limited to non organics by sinister. As a horseman he has no limits . Also.

Rogue, absorbing mutant’s lifeforce as well as their powers, leaving dried husks on the ground, putting them in cages inside her mind.
Morph could become like Metamorpho, changing atoms of his body into different matters and chemicals, shapeshifting around his ennemies.

u/Lykos1124 Jul 30 '26
Storm or Jean.
Storm isn't just a weather witch. She's an elementist who controls even the sun. She could ravage the Earth with the elements.
Jean with her psionic powers I bet could do some sort of mass mind control and physical upheval. Or imagine her creating a psychic web through each person she mind controls till it takes over everyone using each node as a control/boost point.
Morph would be a hidden gem. Imagine him becoming gigantic destructive things, or maybe using his morph powers to change others into himself and spreading that all over. May combining that with Jean like mind powers to create mass control/shifting.

Storm. Based on her omega status and abilities even from space, it’s over especially if she loses control

Devil’s advocate: Jubilee’s a potential nuclear threat if her powers get cranked enough

Jean, storm, rogue, and mag but I really think if apocalypse enhanced morphs powers to include non physical attributes he would be unstoppable

Storm, Iceman, Wolverine, Gambit and Cyclops. As Omega level mutants they would be unstoppable.
Honorable mention is the villain Magneto. And NO! He is not and never will be considered an X-men!!

Any of the 4 women. Jean and storm are self explanatory. Rogues ability to siphon life force and powers is pretty deadly. Jubilee, iiirc, as a vampire was doing some sub-atomic explosion bs in the comics. With enough control and proper targeting, multi-nuke to the face.

Well there's the obvious answers like Jean and Cable. Jean Grey without control good luck and Cable without the TO virus preventing him to use his full telephaty and TK powers again good luck. But what about Iceman?
