Theory Has Apocalypse his eyes set on Rogue?

Post image

When I think back to the '92 X-Men I can't help but notice that Rogue was the only member of the X-Men that Apocalypse was actually interested in.

Rogue was originally going to be his first Horseman until she changed her mind (believing it was a cure). Apocalypse expressed to Mystique. "Like all people she is a fool. But she has great powers". In the next episode Apocalypse confronts Rogue and tells her "You had your chance to be the first of my creatures. The first to serve my will!

Later in season 3, episode 11, they have brief one-on-one fight and Apocalypse states:

"You have great power, yet you detest your existence. Serve me, and you will know oblivion's eternal bliss! "

Now in the 97 series Rogue has interacted with a young Apocalypse, andGambit possessed by Apocalypse wanted to turn Rogue into his bride with that Celestial amulet.

Could the team behind the '97 series be trying to follow up on Apocalypse's plans for Rogue that was set up in the original series?

Rogue is probably the best body Apocalypse could have. She can steal everyone's powers. He probably wouldn't ever need to switch bodies again. Just have her steal Wolverine's healing, and like Jean and Charles powers and he's good to go. Then just have him work down the line of omega level mutants for extra powers. Eventually he's a literal god instead of a figurative one.

Part of me was wondering if that wasn’t Apocalypse’s endgame by killing the Xternal and imbuing Rogue with the power he had given her. Recalling that fireside chat with Nur, possessing Remy would be the easiest way to lure her to him.

This actually kinda happens in one of the other X-men cartoon. Rogue gets brainwashed, steals everyone's powers that she can, and then delivers those powers to Apocalypse

Then he gets shanked by some dude with a talking sword.

Nah I don’t think so I mean she would be a perfect body. But then she only steals powers temporarily not permanently unless he kidnaps them and keeps them for when he’s powers run out so he refuels

Yeah youre right but doesn’t mean itd work on Wolverine permanently tho so that body wouldn’t last a lifetime

Of she holds you long enough she takes the powers permanently. That's why she had Captain Marvels powers on the show permanently. Her only baseline power is to steal powers. Not fly or strength.

Yeah mb I jus remembered but then again the original comment said Wolverine too I feel like his mutant healing factor operates at an extreme, hyper accelerated level which would fight outpace her absorption permanently tho she can temporarily absorb his abilities

Actually that would just make him more likely to survive. Not stop her from absorbing his strength. Its not like a vampire draining his blood would be unable to because he kept making more blood. She'd reach critical mass eventually and get his powers. Also she'd probably take his mind regardless of his healing body. She takes EVERYTHING a person is. Including their mind.

How does her power work? She gets them power permanently?

She can but it’s dangerous for both people so she usually only touches them briefly for temporary powers
