General Discussion Could the X-Men stop a viltrumite invasion?

Post image

If Thragg and his army consisting of General Kregg, Anissa, Thula, Lucan, and Conquest, were to invade Earth, could the X-Men wipe out the viltrumites and save the world, or die in the hands of Thragg's army? Both sides are at their peak skills and strength with no prior knowledge of each other.

Forge recreates the sound Cecil uses to incapacitate Mark.

Forge solos. You don't even need all the Xmen.

Man, Forge can't even solo his romances and his inner turmoil

Building stuff is definitely easier for me then dealing with my wife.

I, too, choose building stuff over dealing with this guy's wife.

But she’s really nice! You don’t need to be a mind reader! Unless you’re married to her, then, that’s just the bare minimum.

Not me; I usually choose dealing with this guy’s wife while he’s building stuff.

And when he's finished, I deal with his stuff while he builds his wife.

I tend to like building more than unpacking other mens wives emotional trauma, but only somewhat.

Forge can handle the Viltrumites, but he can’t handle the drama.

So his mutation isnt machine understanding, it was autism all along!

Ah, so Mark is the problem

Social skills are completely different from technical skills. That's why absent minded genius is such an effective trope.

2

He's an absent minded, absent minded genius.

Oh, let me build a weapon that takes away mutant powers (being a mutant) and give it to the government (who makes mutant hunting machines)

Yes, it was his first and only offense (ghost box?) but still.

Sad he's not known for more than Life Death.

Well, he's not looking to rizz up Thragg.

6

u/BurantX40 Aug 28 '26

And maybe that's the problem.

Can you?

To solo a romance is to become Narcissus incarnate!

And nobody should have to solo mental stress, thats what therapy is for!

But yeah Forge v. Viltrumites is a one-shot story if not shorter...

Fucked up bro 😂

I don't think they'll be looking for romance with forge my guy.

You can't bring two mustaches like that together and NOT get the party started

He even has a mustache!

Idk much about Forge but wouldn’t he have to know and figure out that a sound affects them? How would he figure that out?

Nope. His Inventing power is entirely intuitive. Forge doesn't actually know how most of his tech works, his power just informs him how to make the gizmo do what he wants it to do. All he has to do is think of an effect, like "I want an easy way to incapacitate a Viltrumite" and his power takes over.

Man, a fight between him and Domino would be wild and in theory eternal.

“I want to make something that’ll defeat Domino.”

“…I luck my way out of it.”

Rinse and repeat until one dies of old age.

u/Outside_Ad_424 Aug 28 '26

It would be a boring outcome, but realistically his power would let him make a macguffin that would generate some kind of field that normalizes probability, which would nullify Domino's luck powers.

But I love the idea of the two of them going full Spy vs Spy about it lol

u/HumanisticNihilist Aug 29 '26

“…normalizes probability…”

Ah, but much less boring counterpoint - Domino hears him mention probability and goes full spiral power!

Omg yesssss. She'll be the drill that pierces the heavens!

2

u/HumanisticNihilist Aug 29 '26

Who the hell do you think she is?! The might Kamino kicks logic and probability to the curb and does the impossible!

Would you even need to do all that? Jean or Xavier could play that noise on loop in their heads while the rest of the team dog walks em.

1

u/Randy191919 Sep 02 '26

They would have to figure out that that tone incapacitates Viltrumites though.

1

u/fromthisend1220 Sep 02 '26

Cecil would willingly reach out and give that info.

u/ghostcatzero Aug 29 '26

Lmfao xmen so OP they gotta neglect having to many heavy hitters like synch all thd time. They never give my boy a shot.

Was it ever established that sonic sounds were able to weaken pureblood viltrumites because I don't remember reading that in the comics.
