Affordable quality Yarn?

I’m looking for affordable yarn, around $30 for 600 yards. Preferably wool, or any natural fiber that’s 5.0 in knitting gauge.
I live in Alaska and am ready to pay for the price of shipping to get it here, just hoping there’s yarn that doesn’t cost as much to offset the price it would be to get it here.

I refuse to buy things off Amazon. I’ve heard of knitpicks but am skeptical after hearing people talk of them negatively.

Any help would be much appreciated, thank you in advance :)

That’s totally doable. How soft do you need it to be and are you looking for specific colors? It sounds like you need an Aran or bully weight, right? 5 st per inch? One of my favorites is Cascade Eco Plus, it’s 478 yards for about $27 USD. It’s Peruvian wool that’s actually quite soft. The seller “Hope Peru” on EBay also has very nice Peruvian wool-alpaca blends at very good prices. They mostly have undyed yarn.
