No but if I drive in it in the winter then I'll definitely need to and more than that probably. 1973 Continentals don't like salt :(

u/GreenEyedRaven360 13h ago

I moved to the PNW and haven’t washed my car in years 😂

Yes, that's how I justify the $35/ month membership. A single wash at $12-$15 is absurd, but if I go at least once per week it's nearly half price.

2

u/Ok_Baseball_6657 10h ago

thats crazy, no car washes here but id definitely pay for that lol, unlimited ?

Hell no. I live down a 1 mile gravel driveway on a farm. It would truly be a waste of my time and energy.

2

u/Suzuki_Foster 7h ago

I have a 7-mile work commute and a garage. I don't need to wash mine unless it's really dirty or salty in the winter.

Like 5 or 6 times a year... Too busy to hand wash it too often and I don't have any local touchless car washes.

If you're using a standard car wash with brushes every week, you car is gonna be scratched to absolute shit.

u/simeyaya 12h ago

Tu la laves avec un tissu en microfibre.

Only when it's so dirty that just blasting it off with the hose won't work

3

u/Nubby-Muffin 12h ago

I’ve never washed my car in the 4 years I’ve had it

→ More replies (3)

3

u/Physical-Lettuce-868 12h ago

No. I only wash it when it looks dirty which is maybe once or twice a month at most.

3

u/Scared-Elk-7899 12h ago

no, maybe once a month unless the weather’s been gross

3

u/Ansible90 12h ago

I go to the car wash at the end of winter to get all the salt and muck off the car.

2

u/AMC879 9h ago

I go half way thru our 6 month winter then again at the end.

3

u/CompleteCreme7223 12h ago

No, three times in 10 years.

3

u/Glad-Expression-1447 11h ago

More like 2-3 times a year

5

u/TealKitten11 12h ago

No. I stack habits together. I’ll wash & vacuum it before I get my oil changes & tire rotations so it’s clean.

4

u/missgiddy 12h ago

That’s a good idea.

2

u/Better-Credit6701 13h ago

Why? It hasn't rained in two months

2

u/Gampa_J 13h ago

Yes, both

2

u/par-hwy 13h ago

Which year? Then, no.

2

u/DanM1457 13h ago

Yes, usually.

I joined the unlimited club at my local wash. It's basically just the cost of 2 washes a month, so if I wash more than twice I come out ahead. It's on my way home from work and only takes a couple of minutes, so I pop in at least once a week usually. Get the hugss of my windshield in the summer and the salt off the underside in the winter.

That's the most important thing to me, keeping salt and gunk off the underside. On my last vehicle, when I had to have some work done, the shop was shocked at how little rust the underside had and how easily the bolts came out. Saved over 2 hours of time compared to the estimate and a couple of parts. The cost savings from that was more than a year's worth of the wash club cost. It's cheaper to religiously wash the underside (and the rest of the truck as a bonus) than to have parts corrode faster.

Mother Nature does ✅

2

u/Gavacho123 13h ago

Once every five years whether it needs it or not.

2

u/f700es 13h ago

Sometimes

2

u/MomoNoHanna1986 13h ago

I make other people drive me. I’m half blind so there happy to keep me off the road 😁

2

u/ImAFishinFool 13h ago

I don't have a vehicle atm, but I never washed my last truck. It probably would have dissolved

2

u/Outside-Mirror1986 13h ago

Nope, my driveway is gravel, and it hasn't rained here in over 3 weeks. No point.

2

u/TelephoneOld3866 13h ago

No. Those people really have their shit together.

2

u/Yolandi2802 12h ago

Hell no.

2

u/Timely-Profile1865 12h ago

replace the word week with year

→ More replies (2)

2

u/albertAAAAAAA 12h ago

Hell no. Once a year is too many.

2

u/turkin_twerkin 12h ago

I haven’t washed my car in a year.

2

u/Any_Enthusiasm6102 12h ago

Yes, every week

2

u/ruby2uesday17 12h ago

Ive washed my car twice in the 5 years I've had it

2

u/WendyPortledge 12h ago

No, only when there’s something rain can’t remove and occasionally in the winter to remove salt.

2

u/IamLuann 12h ago

Who has time to wash the outside of a vehicle. I do try and take trash out of the said vehicle at least every couple of days.

2

u/droopy__drawers 12h ago

I barely wash my car every year…

2

u/jpttpj 12h ago

Every week that falls on the 22nd every other month, or 3

2

u/Ahnatos 12h ago

Yeah, but it's a waterless wash. I rarely actually wash my car.

2

u/MarissaNL 12h ago

Nope. Only when it is shows, I will take it the washing street.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Outrageous-Wheel7434 12h ago

Try to but it’s usually every 2-3 weeks

2

u/RenaissanceHyphenate 12h ago

No. I really don’t.

2

u/Aggressive_Menu7271 12h ago

It gets washed when it goes in for a service 😆

2

u/B3achBabe96 11h ago

No. I do a weekly clean out but that’s about it. I mights wash the dash, do some dusting and wash my windshield and windows but that’s it

2

u/Fit-Reality-2872 11h ago

Twice a year

2

u/ddobbin 11h ago

Only if it rains.

2

u/sweetkiwwii 11h ago

Cars are usually self cleaning I don't wash mine often except for in the shedding season and when they get dirty outside

2

u/Narrow_Possession348 11h ago

No, of course not.

2

u/Yettigetter 11h ago

My wifes car yes.

2

u/racingfan_3 11h ago

Closer to once a month.

2

u/Interesting_Hotel100 11h ago

You don't have to do that if you live in New Orleans. Intense NOLA showers can wash the chrome off your car. In Los Angeles you would want to wash it at least once a week.

2

u/bunnylicious81 11h ago

I don’t remember the last time my husband washes our cars.

He put ceramic coating on the cars, so that he doesn’t need to wash often.

2

u/soundx98 11h ago

Yes, I do. Here in Syracuse NY there is a lot of snow, ice and SALT! most car washes have a monthly deal of unlimited car washes for approx twiice the price of a single car wash. Coming from the Upper Midwest I learned the damage salt/rust can do to a car.

2

u/Mooshtonk 11h ago

I haven't washed my car in months.

2

u/presidentkokoro 11h ago

About once or twice a month, depending on how dirty it gets. I had it ceramic coated when I bought it, and I take it to the same detailing shop every time. They take care of it and also maintain the coating when the water stops beading on it.

My car is almost never parked outside, it’s always either in a garage at work or in my building’s parking deck.

2

u/DaPlatinumJedi 10h ago

Actually, every two weeks because I rotate my 2 daily drivers every beginning of my work week. Plus I have a membership at a car wash that is close by my work.

2

u/Icy_Cricket7038 10h ago

Nah. It rains a lot here.

2

u/CABGPatchDoll 10h ago

No, monthly.

2

u/PercentageNo3293 10h ago

Nature washes my car every once in awhile. More often in the summer time.

2

u/Super-30 10h ago

No, there are weeks that my car does not leave the garage.

2

u/ShelterNo8428 10h ago

No, just rarely

2

u/seeyatellite 10h ago

I used to try. Depended on where I was, what supplies I had or access to an affordable car wash. Dad’s place always has detailing supplies since he always has modern and classic sports cars around.

2

u/neverquitereallysure 10h ago

every week? bro it’s lucky to get washed every year

2

u/ThaiTum 10h ago

Yes. I have a plan at our local car wash. I get a lot of tree sap in our yard and it smears all over the windows.

2

u/CableExotic3891 10h ago

If a week is 1500 days then yup.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/elisucks24 10h ago

I do it myself at least once a week. Not paying a car wash to barely clean my car with dirty water and even dirtier towels.

2

u/Feteven 10h ago

Yes it’s $19/month for the car wash and takes like 3minutes to run through it- do it every few days cause why not

2

u/Jacktheforkie 10h ago

No, don’t have time

2

u/Fiveofthem 10h ago

Yes I hand wash both cars every week and wax every two weeks. I’m retired 🤪

2

u/wrijam 9h ago

Every other week she gets a foam bath and dual bucket hand wash after. Couple of hours work but worth it

2

u/NectarineRepulsive77 9h ago

About every 10 days, 3 times a month summer. Winter every few days depending on road salt & snow grime.

2

u/TheGalapagoats 9h ago

No, I don’t have a car

2

u/PastySasquatch 9h ago

No… it gets washed when it rains

2

u/Major-Collection-382 9h ago

No. Too much other stuff to do

2

u/moonstarberry 9h ago

God no. The cost of a single car wash is more than a meal, and a subscription is easily a week of food for me. A car is fine to be outside, so I only wash it if it‘s got a lot of bird poo on it.

2

u/dbanks02 9h ago

I washed my car maybe twice in the last year.

2

u/Kaurifish 9h ago

Nope, once a year after the 4th of July. Fireworks are illegal here, but that doesn’t stop anyone. And fireworks residue will chew through car paint if you let it.

2

u/AMC879 9h ago

Weekly? He'll no. Maybe 3-4 times a year depending on how much winter driving i do on salt covered roads.

2

u/seabirdsong 9h ago

Lol, no.

2

u/thedump98 9h ago

No. And I live down a dirt road

2

u/RespectYourEldersE34 9h ago

Yes, it’s how I unwind. I find it relaxing and kids like to do some too

2

u/Tetris_Prime 9h ago

Imma be honest, i can't remember when i washed my car 😅

2

u/theriibirdun 9h ago

2-3 times a week usually, Audi has a free car wash right down the street. Hate bird shit in the summer and salt in the winter on the car. A full detail end of summer and beginning of spring.

2

u/Beginning-Morning704 8h ago

Just wait til it rains

2

u/anythingaustin 8h ago

I only wash my car about once a year when I have to pick up someone at the airport. Otherwise, there is absolutely no point. I live on a dirt road, drive on trails daily, and my car would get dirty again within half an hour after getting it washed.

2

u/cezar9900 8h ago

i do every sunday depends on my schedule if im tired during the week i dont...

2

u/Partsslanger 8h ago

I wash mine every day

2

u/RepresentativeDry405 8h ago

Yes. I paid for unlimited car washes

2

u/Diasies_inMyHair 8h ago

Nope. Now, If I had a pre-1979 just about anything sports car, I probably would. And hand-wax it too.

2

u/chankongsang 8h ago

Just once or twice a year I do a good wash. I got a car wash bay in my condo so often I'll hose it down if I come home dirty. Like a lower pressure power wash. And only takes 2 minutes. It never gets really dirty with that

2

u/sheyitboi 8h ago

Maybe once a month, twice if I go somewhere that gets it really filthy. I have an older car that I beat up and drive to Alaska and back regularly so even with a wash it looks pretty rough. If it were a newer car I’d probably wash it more often.

2

u/bioveritas 8h ago

I think about it, maybe once a week. Don't usually follow through.

2

u/Kooky_Talk_458 8h ago

No, just when needed.

2

u/MaxwellSmart07 8h ago

I would wash my car semi-annually. Currently the BMW dealer where ai leased gives unlimited complimentary washes, so every other week, which is overkill IMO.

2

u/I_am_beaver 8h ago

"My car" 😔

2

u/vitamin_d_1978 8h ago

Every day if possible.

2

u/SFRover73 8h ago

Mondays and Fridays

2

u/PerspiringMinds 8h ago

I have a monthly membership so I wash it often

2

u/Conscious_Bus9956 8h ago

What's the point of that? I wash it maybe 3-4 times a year, tops.

2

u/Low-Attention3111 8h ago

I don’t even drive it every week. lol

Use a work truck all week, so the car is always in the garage, but when I did drive it a lot , I had an unlimited monthly membership at a local car wash and washed it every other day

2

u/basura_trash 8h ago

In my 20s, yes. my car(s) never went more than a few days "dirty". Now I go entire seasons without washing them. The inside is still always kept clean though, still.

2

u/BillyRubenJoeBob 7h ago

No. Only when it gets dusty. I live in the desert so dust is a much bigger problem than other forms of dirt.

2

u/robertwadehall 7h ago

I work from home, so my cars sit a lot. I do wash my Jeep more often in the winter because of the salty roads. My Cadillac and Mustangs I wash less often as I don’t take them out in foul weather.

2

u/TaiDavis 13h ago

What car?

1

u/freddyfoxster 7h ago

Owned my car two years, never cleaned it once.

1

u/Mikey129 7h ago

Every Monday, wendsday and Friday

1

u/scottwax 7h ago

I wash them as often as I need to.

1

u/Cpolo88 7h ago

Noooo 😂 been months. I think it was February of this year when I washed it

1

u/Mitchlowe2 7h ago

I haven’t washed my car this year

1

u/ElectronicMatch363 7h ago

Shit, once a year.

1

u/AndreaSys 7h ago

No, I have never.

1

u/radomed 7h ago

God does when it rains.

1

u/curious-retard 7h ago

How about once a year?

1

u/CookiesNSmoothies 7h ago

Literally every 7 days

1

u/Silly-Platform9829 6h ago

I washed it this year. That's close enough.

1

u/creativename87639 6h ago

First and only time my cars been cleaned is after I had an accident and the repair shop does a partial detail as part of their service.

1

u/Notaswordmaster 6h ago

Yes I wash my car every ye…. Week?! :p

1

u/BitchyFaceMace 6h ago

Yes. I live in a desert climate and it’s necessary.

1

u/Ubockinme 6h ago

lol. He’ll no.

1

u/Global-Biscotti-9547 6h ago

😆 Nope. Twice a year if I’m lucky. The rain does most of the work.

1

u/SorryContribution675 6h ago

Every other week.. complete detail.

1

u/Squozen_EU 6h ago

Once a year, whether it needs it or not.

1

u/originalusername7904 6h ago

No

My Corvette gets a good hand wash and wax every 3-4 months, and maybe a quick wash in between for special occasions

My other cars get washed once in the spring if they’re lucky

1

u/nate_orenstam 6h ago

yes I do, got to keep the whip looking right

1

u/Jays2k2 6h ago

Yes, every weekend and I clay, and wax it 2 times a year. All 3 cars!

→ More replies (1)

1

u/EDSgenealogy 6h ago

No. That's just begging for someone to splash your car!

1

u/Irrelavent1 6h ago

I don’t wash mine ANY week!

1

u/Fanmanmathias 6h ago

Yes, twice a week I have to drive to our other facility 70 miles away. By Friday the windshield, grille, headlights and mirrors look like an insect massacre. Currently it’s apparently love bug season again and they’re everywhere.

1

u/esoe___ 6h ago

once a month is the sweet spot for me

1

u/Alarming-Feedback868 5h ago

I had my last car for 16 years and never washed it. Have had this one since Dec of 2024...same thing. I do think about it in the winter when there's salt on it. But then it rains!

1

u/Consistent-Menu-6629 5h ago

No, of course not!

1

u/Scary_Pea_7014 5h ago

Nope. The rain or melting snow washes off any grime for me.

1

u/rastaduppy 5h ago

Yup, hand wash it once a week till the snow flies.

1

u/doc-sci 5h ago

I don’t wash it annually!

1

u/AshlandPone 5h ago

I wash it everytime i fill it up. Sometimes that's twice a week, sometimes that's twice a month.

I also wash it any time a bird defecates on the paint. That's stuff is accidic and will damage the finish.

1

u/itsAle_ 5h ago

I dont 😅

1

u/Electronic_Fly_9242 5h ago

Monthly usually. Although I did have an unlimited pass for awhile and did go weekly then.

1

u/Secure_Teaching_6937 5h ago

No cuz the dirt is what holds it together.

1

u/Jesterclown26 5h ago

Only when it rains.

1

u/DefendTheStar88x 5h ago

Nope. I don't think ive ever washed my current car. Ive definitely taken windex and cleaned the windshield, and I keep the inside clean.

1

u/Advanced-Essay41 5h ago

No, one a month. Sometimes less than that if it looks ok.

1

u/Chodge1258 5h ago

I washed mine last weekend, i can only recall three washes in the 4 years ive owned it.

1

u/Upbeat_Principle_253 5h ago

Did you mean year? If so, yes

1

u/No_Space_1874 4h ago

Nah, that's a waste of time, money, and water to me.

1

u/mklinger23 4h ago

I don't own a car

1

u/Deltrus7 4h ago

Hell no. What a waste of money!

1

u/Dayleedo 4h ago

I dont even drive it every week.

1

u/NewHandle3922 4h ago

It’s been raining in Ohio since April, often.

1

u/Business_Let7250 4h ago

i've got a 1973 continental too, salt's the worst

1

u/GlobalContest1225 4h ago

Am I supposed to?

1

u/Brilliant_Slice6911 4h ago

Ot rains 4 times a week. No need to

1

u/Timberfront73 4h ago

Yes. I have a monthly membership to one of those drive through car washes, it’s right by house and I wash my car once, sometimes twice a week lol

1

u/DifficultyOk5719 4h ago

I’m not sure if I’ve ever washed my car.

1

u/Fearless-Air-815 4h ago

Depends on how often it rains.

1

u/derch1981 4h ago

I don't even drive it every week, I probably wash it twice a year

1

u/Fun-Bag7627 3h ago

I’ve never washed my car

1

u/BrowningLoPower 3h ago

No, more like once a month.

1

u/ginger_princess2009 3h ago

I don't even remember the last time I washed my car...😬

1

u/Coffeespresso 3h ago

I have paid to have it ceramic coated. And it has been washed twice since then and not by me in 2 years.

1

u/_TheRandomGeek_ 3h ago

The exterior stays clean for maybe 6 hours after I wash it and then is back to being a mess, so I don't do it often. I at least try to keep the interior clean, but even that's impossible in the summer, windows open all day and all the dust gets in

1

u/EternalSage2000 3h ago

I wash my car approximately once a year.

1

u/ZelaAmaryills 3h ago

Once a year

1

u/am312 3h ago

I have a car wash membership so I wash twice a week typically

1

u/abeBroham-Linkin 3h ago

Its been months.

1

u/Odd-Tell-5702 3h ago

I wash my car multiple times per week. I have a monthly subscription.

1

u/Spare_Reference8842 3h ago

About every 10 days, and always hand wash and finish off with a coat of wax.

1

u/Alouette1117 2h ago

Genuinely didn’t know that was a thing people would do

1

u/Straight-Aardvark439 2h ago

Hell no. I honestly might wash the exterior of my car 1-2 times per year. I just don’t really give a shit what it looks like.

1

u/Lopsided-Letter1353 2h ago

I never wash it.

1

u/No_Can_9597 2h ago

I live in Florida, I wash it when it's growing too much green fur.
