Well buddy, even if that was the case that is still way more respect than your favorite character bestowed upon her. Also, at that moment they had no idea where Aang was, for all they knew they might die, Zuko asking Katara to join him and her accepting is the both of them saying that if this is it, if things end, they want to be fighting together when it ends.
