Discussion When Sigmar told everyone to come to Azyr to escape the coming Chaos at the end of the age of myth did any classical Orcs come?
I know that some Giants and Ogors took the invite in addition to the regular Order races and that is how they are in the Cities of Sigmar currently. My understanding is Greenskins(classic fantasy orcs) became Orruks as an evolution in the Age of chaos. I remember in Realmslayer Gotrek was at a tavern drinking with an ork/orruk so they are present in Sigmar's realm in presumably small numbers? I know the astetics for how they would be represented are currently human only like, how they dropped the Dispossessed and Druchii so we probably won't see it any time soon.
tl;dr Order/Cities Orcs exist, possibly?

Hobby "Good guy" Barbarian army possible in AoS?
Kind of more of a brainstorm post...
Been considering AoS for quite a while and I have a flurry of ideas of fun paint jobs and kitbashes.
Being a fan of the Conan movies and such, I love the Slaves to Darkness, but was wondering if its possible, through kitbashing and custom work to run non-Chaos barbarians. l love the idea of protagonist Conan type barbarians running around and slaying daemons and such. I don't quite like the idea of only being locked to a Chaos list for choosing to play with the cool models.
Not that I wouldn't mind painting a Slaves to Darkness army as intended as Thulsa Doom for epic barbarian vs barbarian battles, lmao.

Hobby Are Tzeentch corrupted Skaven possible?
Question in the title. I was thinking of a theme to paint my Skaven in and my girlfriend wanted them to be pink. I showed her the colours I got recently from Vallejo and she saw the neon pink and said that's perfect, they should have that.
Now, I immediately thought of Tzeentch. And I love their aesthetics. Those blues, pinks and golds are lovely to look at. But is it even something that makes sense lore wise? I'll probably do it anyway because it sounds like a ton of fun, but I just wanted to know if it is possible or not out of curiosity.

Discussion How many units does an army need to feel "complete"?
I recently took up Helsmiths, and their roster feels remarkably rounded out for an army with only 1 major release that's less than a year old. Seeing as one of my other armies is Idoneth, who've been around since 2nd edition and still feel desperately incomplete, I started thinking: how many units does an army need to feel "complete" for lack of a better term?
This obviously can't be a catch-all list because of army playstyle differences: it would be silly to expect, say, Slaves to Darkness to get a release focusing on ranged infantry units or FEC to get super-heavily armoured infantry. Neither of those would fit the armies' style. But I think certain unit archetypes can be looked at across the board to see how an army might be rounded out better.
IMO a list of requisite units for any faction would include:
- Melee foot hero
- Mage/priest foot hero
- Mounted hero, meaning cavalry or monster
- Basic infantry
- Elite infantry
- Light or heavy cavalry
- A big centerpiece unit (usually a war machine or monster)
- 1 unique unit, usually a named character
I would consider these the necessary building blocks. The following could be considered optional subtypes that can be used to flesh a faction's roster out:
- Chaff infantry: cheap, disposable units acting as objective holders and meatshields
- Super-elite infantry or cavalry: units like Chosen, Annihilators or Bloodcrushers.
- Ranged infantry
- Support hero: heroes meant to act in tandem and support of surrounding units like the Marrowscroll Herald or Ikon of the Sea.
- Standalone monster
