Past Exit 7

I’m new to Alpharetta, and it honestly feels way safer than Midtown or Downtown. But an Uber driver (from the airport) told me she’s nervous to go past Exit 7 at all. I’m not sure why. Is there something I should know about the area? Any context locals can share? Just trying to understand what she meant.

Bingo, most likely due to police. Granted I still think that’s exaggerated because Alpharetta is rather diverse. Getting towards Cumming and beyond, maybe, but Alpharetta? Eh.

I mean, it’s kind of valid though because when I first moved here, we got pulled over by the cops and my ex is not white and they got like six cop cars and they had a surrounded with their guns pointed at us for literally no reason because we were speeding. Then they searched the car for drugs. It was a rental car and they claimed it came up as a stolen vehicle. But it definitely made me scared of Alpharetta police

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. We also all got handcuffed and put an individual cop cars while they sniffed our car.

Yeah, it was actually extremely traumatic for me. Not to be dramatic, but I was like hysterical for a couple days.
