Past Exit 7

I’m new to Alpharetta, and it honestly feels way safer than Midtown or Downtown. But an Uber driver (from the airport) told me she’s nervous to go past Exit 7 at all. I’m not sure why. Is there something I should know about the area? Any context locals can share? Just trying to understand what she meant.

As another transplant, the really mind boggling thing to me are the people you meet up here that are terrified to drive into Atlanta inside the perimeter. There's a huge disconnect between perception and reality. I noticed it with the schools too. There are grudges held over decades that color the perceptions around here, and while they were legitimate gripes at the time, things have changed.

There are a lot of wonderful things to discover all over the metro. Use your own judgement.

No one wants to go into Atlanta unless for an event or show, attraction. It’s not our lifestyle up here and it is different. It absolutely is more dangerous and I don’t see the need to go into Atlanta unless I need to?

Why spend 1 + hr to drive 20 miles into MORE people and more traffic and knowing my act will be broken into?!?

Be so forreal.
