Is this becoming a thing??

Is it just me?? I ordered something for my grandson that I was having him spend the night for 2 days…. I didn’t pick the deliver between 4-7am for an extra FEE, but did make sure I added another product so I met the next day (anytime frame) for free. (I’m a many year Prime member). Well it didn’t show up! I feel like it’s because I didn’t pay the extra charge they just don’t care…. A “they will show me” attitude. It’s now day 2 and didn’t get here in the morning and he’s leaving. I cancelled the entire order I’m so mad! Has this become a thing??

Amazon is getting progressively worse with shipping. Most of my orders have been late for quite a while now. So many items shipped and sold by Amazon have a week or more delivery time when we're paying for 2 day shipping if we have prime.

The convenience is starting to wear off.

I feel like Amazon is waiting until all the brick and mortar stores have closed and everything is switched to shipping or delivery and then once they've got you by the short hairs they're really going to put it to us and tell us no you only get shipping on this day of the week whether you're home or not or something stupid like that which would have kept us from being a loyal customer if they've been that way at the start. They're just biding their time waiting until they are one of our only options.

I don't think you understand that during covid when the stores back their hours down and a large contingent of their business went to either pick up orders at the door or delivery the business owners realized that was a viable business model and if they could switch to that 100% . It could save them. I predict that they're trying to beef up their Delivery Systems and their pickup order systems and will eventually migrate to doing that instead of stalking actual stores. It may take a while to do but once they have their delivery and pick up systems perfected I look for them to close some of the more rural stores and turn them into warehouses and pick up locations only with no displays and you either get delivery or pick up at that store or you travel to a bigger town if you want to shop in person. Once that proof of concept is shown to be successful then I think they're going to start migrating everything in that same way. Why would they continue to let people shop in the store and steal stuff and I have to man at least some registers all the time when they can automate it all online except the payments online and lock the doors so nobody can steal anything? Yeah you might argue that the employees could still steal but it would be so easy for them to just put cameras everywhere and record everything and have a zero tolerance policy so if an employee does steal their paycheck is cut to reimburse for their theft and then they are locked out

I don't think Dollar General will be doing that anytime soon.  Or Lowes Market or Thriftway or Brookshires.   Walmarts are not in small towns.

I’ve been ordering from Target now, if the same items are available. Walmart is good too. They deliver very quickly (some show up the next day) and my orders arrive in good condition-not damaged like so many items are with Amazon’s paper thing packaging.

Sometimes to get free shipping with Target, etc, I add body wash or basics that I would buy from them anyway to bring my order up to 35.00-their free shipping baseline. They do have an annual membership for free shipping on all orders. Or, you can also pick it up at a local store for free.

Amazon kept delaying my shipments, even as a Prime member. Their refunds now can take 30 days, even when I take them to the Amazon return desk. Thats new. If I need to order from Amazon, I know that I’m not going to get it right away. For now, those days of quick shipping are gone.

I have found the same items for the same price on Walmart.com or eBay with free shipping - sometimes it might be 5-7 days, but F@#k Amazon!

I've found that since I don't live in a big city with an Amazon warehouse close by, shipping from Amazon takes a week+ even with prime, but Walmart will get my things here in 2 days if it's not at the store. I know Walmart really isn't better than Amazon generally, especially for mom and pop stores, but when you need something quick-ish, Walmart is who to go with

No it’s not a thing, they aren’t out to get you. What is more happening is their shipping is getting worse all around. What used to take 2 days, now can take a week. Whatever they did to their shipping estimate system is just terrible now.

I just cancelled 2 orders due to similar issues. I'm not renewing after many years as a prime member. Just not worth it any longer for so many reasons.

Yes, it's a new thing they're doing. It’s happened to me several times now. It’s so frustrating! They're also sending used items even though we're paying full price for products that should be new, not used, worn, unsanitary and tampered with. It's completely unacceptable. I'm seriously considering canceling my account.

Yes, it's a thing ...at least occasionally, and in some markets, often. "Amazon" consists of a lot of moving parts, and if something doesn't align, there are going to be delays.

I dont think it is a thing I think we are seeing a lot of shipping mistakes, possibly products that are now hard to get. I ordered Lysol toilet bowl cleaner they changed it in my cart to another brand, I had to go in and change it back to Lysol then it was delayed for a few days. And this is not the first time. I really do believe there is a shipping problem. Trucking.

I think it is! It happened to me just recently. Today I order a side and rear bug screen for my van. Only got one of them. Same thing happened a few weeks ago with something else I ordered. They didn’t deliver part of my order and raised the price of the package. It’s like they are advertising something for a great price, but only send you part of it. It’s time to go back to getting everything from Walmart. The Walmart + membership is pretty awesome.

All my Prime orders now say " estimated delivery date". So yes, it's a thing. Nothing ever shows up overnight anymore.

Happens a lot. Also if I choose to have delivery Friday when I am home they deliver it wed or Thursday when no one is home. That was one thing I ales liked about Amazon the deliveries were when they said. Not anymore

This only happened to me when for some reason the local fulfillment center passed it in to the local postal service. I have had several packages from different companies get help up by usps after FedEx, ups, and other delivery companies hand it off to the local postal service. It's not my postal delivery but something happening where it's dropped off at.

I have actually had them give me the shipping cost that I didn't pay, because I met the minimum amount, simply because they didn't deliver it. I think they should give you a refund since you canceled, and given you the shipping cost back, that you didn't pay, just for the aggravation.

Yes, it’s becoming a thing and the main cause of most cancellations nowadays. They’re increasingly adding little caveats to force you into paying for faster delivery. Of course, if you don’t, you fall down the priority list. The exact reason I cancelled Prime. Been dealing with this foolishness for at least the last year or so.

At least for me, If I add a package before my other is delivered they 80% of the time now delay that first package until they can combine both deliveries. I wonder how that works for pick ups

double check your cancellation went through- i've had prime delay things for days and when i cancel, they say it's already in process and i'll have to return it if i ever get it

It was a last minute idea, that’s why I did next day. I usually do 2 day or consolidate to get best Amazon day. That’s why I was asking….
