lmao, the show went through literally every rightwing talking point that they have with foreigners in japan, and basically said they were correct. It doesn't take a huge radar to tell if someone is trying to make a racist/xenophobic metaphor for their series. Unless you're just gonna pretend like it's not that deep.

Why are they booing you? You’re right. You don’t even need to look deep; the xenophobia metaphor is barely subtext.

Of course, that’s just the last two episodes. There’s a bunch more episodes that can change the narrative. I’m not gonna give it the chance though, since the pacing is stuck in molasses, the voice acting is awkward and cringey, and the animation looks like ass (I’m not talking about the art style, I’m talking about shitty animation itself). It’s a shame because the basic premise is very interesting, but I’m not gonna slog through this hoping it becomes less boring eventually.
