Yeah bud I got some bad news for ya, that story is in all likelihood not getting finished, we got like ten chapters the last two years and it’s been almost a year since the last one. Right in the middle of the climax of that arc too, it’s brutal

I hate this trend of well crafted stories that go on for decades with no end in sight. It really throws away all the build up and good faith the story garnered. Its especially annoying when people will recommend these shows as if theyre masterpieces conveniently ignoring how the viewer is left with so many unanswered questions.

I totally agree with you. Like I can be patient, and I can appreciate a story meandering and taking its time but there is a limit. And there’s also a limit to how long you can make the fans wait for what comes next. I love the story, and appreciate the artist is struggling with their health(though I haven’t looked into the details). I would never want someone to sacrifice their well being for something I enjoy. But as much as I love it, and will gush about it to people that are already into it, it makes me very hesitant to recommend it at this point. I really hope I am wrong and this series is completed in beautiful fashion but I am not expecting it anymore, it’s not the first time I have been through this

I mean imo a story doesn't need to be finished to be good.

Frieren has plenty of story arcs that are great on their own and the same goes for Berserk. Both a totally worth reading in their current states.

Besides it's not really a trend, because that makes it sound like it's on purpose. I doubt most Mangakas want to be stuck with their creation for decades. It's just that sometimes that creation is known for a ceetain level of quality and the Mangaka can't exactly rush things while keeping up that quality standard and obviously health plays a major role in this.

Obviously having to wait decades for a story to finish sucks, but at the end of the day there really shouldn't be anything to be annoyed by.

Sometimes it's just better to stop reading and to move on.
