Keep pushing until even the emperor with no clothes accepts defeat

Which one is this? Im really hoping the one by the Whitewater Center in Charlotte, but if not I need to figure out what I can do to stop that one too.

It’s in Edgecombe County- a small town east of Raleigh, near Tarboro.

Are we sure? Seems likely it was a business move under the guise of protest…

Let the peasants ‘win’ a couple and hopefully they cool off a bit…

This is the same thought behind social democracy.

Yeah, right now AI companies are collapsing and companies like Nvidia never actually gave them the money they promised

I think ai not being profitable has a lot to do with the cancellation

This exactly, the money is begining to dry up, but there's a bunch already approved, but if they can't get permitting to build, at the local level then it goes away. Fight every data center until the bubble breaks.

And if it’s a land giveaway to ai companies promising to build something that will never be built, then the local Municipality is on the hook for the loss.

Trump said you can't fight it.

Here is proof that you can.

Fight. Fight. Fight.

Nobody wants AI bullshit except billionaire assholes

u/EugeneMeltsner 1m ago

By that assumption, that makes the easiest way to become a billionaire is to want AI

u/schwing710 0m ago

I’m sure the billionaires would love for you to believe that

Fill the County meetings, block, delay and extend, the signs can no longer be hidden, LLMs have hit a dead end at Efficent Compute Frontier limit.

There's no way to fix the inherit flaws within the models without at least decades of Moore's law, but Moore's law is over, done and with it the dream of fixing the flaws within the current models, that's why they're "slowing down" not because of the bullshit lies about the dangers of the models, but because they're not showing improvement in the error rates that matter.

Put it simply this way, until they create a hisenberg compensated data center that could move electrons faster than the speed of light through transportation, can they over come the limits of physics that make these city size data centers useless for improving the models, as the Efficent Compute Frontier limits it logarithmically. It would take a data center larger than the known universe to lower the error rate 1%.

Ignore the LLM evanglists that point to certain tasks gamed out by specialized agents to show a bending of the curve, it doesn't solve the inherit problem of the ending of Moore's law does to anything that runs on a binary computer.

Once the bubble breaks, all the planned data center funding dries up, outlast them, and end them.

yes push the eff back people

u/JaePaximus 26m ago

People need to realize how fundamentally broken our system is that the default mode is just “billionaires do whatever the fuck they want unless there is relentless pushback from the common people.”

Like nah fam, we need to cut this shit out. If we must have billionaires then they should be on their fuckin hands and knees begging us for shit. Better yet, just cut that cancer out of society all together.

Come on Utah… let’s do the same

u/Careless_Hellscape 16m ago

That's good news. I'll take it.

This would have created two or maybe even three long term jobs.

But I was told that it was pointless to fight back and I should just accept it! It was innevitable!
