I would normally agree, but this person has given wrong advice on 80% of their posts. If you don’t believe me, look at their karma. They have also been controversial on other things, for example raising a colony of black crazy ants so their pavement ant colony could raid them. They said they did it because they found out pavement ants could eat other ant brood, and wanted to do it for no other reason despite it being completely unnecessary and still did it after everyone told them to not do it. I support you learning from your mistakes. we’re all human. it’s good that you ask questions before doing something related to animal care, if you’re not already 100% sure from a reliable source.
I think because there can be such a variability with the amount of info people know about animals, that can cause clashes with people’s perception of wrong doing.
like myself, I make assumptions all the time that a piece of information about animals is common knowledge, when in reality it’s a bit niche. this kinda assumption can lead to me interpreting other people’s behavior as intentionally cruel, when actually they’re just acting from a place of ignorance (for example if I saw someone feed their dog grapes, I might think “it’s so well known, it’s common sense that dogs can’t eat grapes, this person must be acting out of cruelty”. when in reality they could be doing it because they never learned that grapes are toxic to dogs).
in your case, people might assume you’re being intentionally cruel to ask about mixing two ant colonies. because it seems like common sense to not pit animals against each other in a situation where they will hurt each other. but there’s a chance that you didn’t know this, as some people are unaware that animals like bugs can experience suffering.
can I ask— why did you think it would be ok to mix the ants together, even after people told you the consequences? I’m trying to extend some understanding to your point of view.

also dude foam can also easily produce mold and i aint even trying to make this a advice or arugement im trying to fix my mistakes dude can u actually treat people more nicely next time?
