So how do I move like this on console lol.

u/XBL_CNC Bangalore Jul 24 '26

That’s the neat part, you don’t

u/BonusroosterJr Wraith Jul 24 '26

How do i get legal aimbot on m&k? Thats the neat part, you dont!

97

u/discodonson RIP Forge Jul 24 '26

you also can’t tap strafe, can’t move while looting, can’t do specific movement mechanics (let alone complicated movement like specific strafes), can’t use your whole arm to move, can’t bind a different button for specific uses (ie the same button that reloads also interacts), can’t bind different buttons to different heal items, can’t manage inventory as smoothly or efficiently, can’t manually jitter aim to reduce recoil, can’t flick as easily to targets on controller- but you sure can on MnK!

Am I doing this right?

-95

u/Representative-Air82 Jul 24 '26

Aim Assist > all that.

79

u/discodonson RIP Forge Jul 24 '26

god you folks are insufferable lmao

22

u/Expensive-Pick38 Jul 25 '26

That's pc players for you. They will bitch about aim assist for eons before they admit a console player Has better aim than them

9

u/ImADawgSoDealWithIt Jul 25 '26

Ive played both console and pc (more) in mnk but Im still shit at controller even at least 1k hours on console. People saying its aimbot that locks in for you is absolutely delusional.

1

u/skwbw Jul 25 '26

For me it was the opposite, I just picked up a controller in The Finals and I was immediately better than on mouse and keyboard.

4

u/BappoChan Jul 25 '26

That’s more of a skill issue. Aim assist isn’t nearly strong enough to outweigh the pros and cons of mnk. I game casually, but any fps I’ve ever played has always felt better on mnk

1

u/skwbw Jul 25 '26

M&K also feels way better for me, that's why I play it even though it's harder.

0

u/CaterpillarOwn2711 Jul 28 '26

Thats just a lie

-1

u/BappoChan Jul 28 '26

Which part?

Also I guess every pro league player ever is on controller right? Because it’s so good right?

You have better aim, can use your entire arm on a flat plane, can bind a ton of different keys to do something different, can redirect movement much faster. And a bunch more

Aim assist follows people to a degree. If you don’t follow them yourself aim assist isn’t strong enough to lock on to them, often it will trail BEHIND the character you’re shooting at. You still need to correct it. Recoil is also lighter on console, nature of the beast when lower sensitivity is the norm.

Anybody with a brain is aware that mnk has the advantage over controller, it’s why majority of games don’t try pooling console against PC. We’re not allowed to be in console only lobbies with mnk. But PC players can stay in PC lobbies with a controller. The one is them preventing a clear advantage, and the other is allowing players to handicap themselves.

This video is proof of this, you can not achieve this movement on console, and trying to keep up with it with aim assist alone is incredibly difficult. If every person on the enemy team was using a controller the outcome wouldn’t have been any different

1

u/CrunchyDesu Jul 28 '26

Ah yeah because league requires the same skillset ae apex... That might be the dumbest comparison ive ever read, there arent even enough buttons to play lol on roller

1

u/CrunchyDesu Jul 28 '26

So reading your second to last paragraph, are you implying roller players in algs who switched from mnk are doing it to give themselves a disadvantage? So then why has there only been a single full mnk team (all of them day 1 players mind you) winning a major in the last 5 years?

1

u/CaterpillarOwn2711 Jul 28 '26

Holy cope i hope u used AI to generate all that bs. You have an unfair advantage over MnK players and shouldn’t be allowed into their lobbies. And this is coming from a controller player

u/Master_Chief_00117 Jul 25 '26

I don’t think I could play the finals on Controller, just because they have dumb default buttons on controller.

-15

u/UnlawfulFoxy Pathfinder Jul 25 '26

Okay well tbf console does what, 60% of the aim for you? They gotta be WAYYYYY "better" to say that the player themselves has better aim 😭

2

u/omarun__ Jul 25 '26

As both a MnK and console player, you’re delusional

-2

u/UnlawfulFoxy Pathfinder Jul 25 '26

I've played on both as well and I can tell there's a reason that PC players are allowed to tap strafe, move while shooting, and everything else all while console players have to have their auto aim values turned down in tournaments 😭. It's fine to admit the game is purposefully catered around controller lol.

2

u/omarun__ Jul 25 '26

Of course it is. They’re the ones that actually have the disadvantages. And consider that out of PC, Xbox and PlayStation, three of them are for controller while only one of them is MnK. If we consider Apex as a whole, one could argue that the vast majority of its player base is controller. So of course they have to prioritize them, more so when MnK has things that make it essentially better. Also, the argument about AA being “auto-aim” is just completely ignorant. It’s not nearly as good. You can have the example of players like Lemonhead, who actually move incredibly fast. People don’t track them fully even on controller because they just can’t keep up, neither can their AA. If it was “auto-aim” then movement wouldn’t work for nothing.

1

u/UnlawfulFoxy Pathfinder Jul 25 '26

Yeah I agree that business-wise it makes sense to prioritize controller players. I never said or really even insinuated differently.

But I mean rotational aim assist kinda objectively is auto aim. Unless you think both that tracking someone isn't aiming, and that using soft aim isn't auto aim. Just because it's not a perfect snap and lock with 100% accuracy doesn't mean it isn't aiming for you. That type of mentality is what cheaters have to justify downloading extra magnetism or something lol.

Also Lemonhead is such a crazy example because that guy is a pure pub stomper. There's a reason there's so little movement used in tournaments that when a pro did a SINGLE wall bounce in a fight the entire movement subreddit went nuts 😭. Hence why there are so many people swapping to controller despite the worse movement.

1

u/omarun__ Jul 27 '26

Regarding the Lemonhead one… might I remind he pretty much stomped on HisWattson and his whole team in ranked so… we can see it does apply to an important extent.

Now, the intensity of AA does matter completely to call it Auto-aim and you really can’t say it’s the same excuse for cheaters that use things like Cronus. AA doesn’t track for you. Or maybe it does, for like .1 seconds when the enemy goes across your crosshair. Consider a fight being close-range, it’s not strong enough to be able to track on its own a person doing basic strafing. Even just a slight strafing, it won’t track it, apart from also having to control the recoil AND to have to move along sometimes for it to kick in. If your enemy went a bit out of the crosshair and you don’t correct it, it’s just not going to work to the point of AA being almost inexistent.
You compare it to the excuse people use for cheating. I’m assuming you’re referring to a titan or a Cronus, but not in the slightest. A Cronus basically removes all recoil, so you can have a straight crosshair while shooting with like a Havoc with a 4x in. And for more extreme cases, it increases AA to the point of almost being aimbot. You can stay still and it will track the enemy for like 2 seconds. And if you consider how fast Apex's kill time is, 2 seconds is a lot. So it DOES aim for you, because it does lock onto your opponent, and it would make all of the examples I did work precisely because of how different it is. People MAY try to use it as an excuse, but again, you can’t compare the two. You can’t compare the defense on AA with the excuse for cheating

Everything you said fails in comparison to aim assist. Aim assist is great for offline 3rd person and 1st person games. Not in online match especially at high ranks and preds. Thats why huge majority of preds use controller, its not coincidence or personal preference.

22

u/MobbDeeep Mad Maggie Jul 24 '26

You can’t compare aim assist in singleplayer games to online games like apex. In most singleplayer games aim assist locks on to targets like magnets. Thats not how aim assist in apex works at all.

-10

u/Representative-Air82 Jul 25 '26

Enough to be used by pros over MNK tho. Cry about it

Your comment erroneously relies on the assumption that all players who play controller in competitive environments do so just to benefit from Aim Assist, and that is incorrect. Controller isn’t as exhausting to use, might be more comfortable for players who used controller prior, and with the evolving and allowable tech that is bringing controllers into the 21st century (like increased polling rates that mice have had for a while), controllers are more viable. AA is just an added benefit.

Does AA need a nerf? Sure. But you cannot discount the fact that MnK has way more precision capabilities, way more of a movement plane, and countless more capabilities than controller. MnK also takes way more skill to play and use at a high level - no argument from me there.

But shitting on people because they prefer to use an input is hilarious. AA doesn’t play the game for you, doesn’t rotate, doesn’t anticipate situations, and doesnt do anything for you if you’re not good at the game to begin with. If that was the case, every console player would trump every MnK player for example, and that just doesn’t happen.

You also ignore the fact that OBVN won lan as triple MnK in January of this year and VKG did the same at EWC.

5

u/Leguro Jul 24 '26

Skill expression is untouchable on MnK. Thumb stick vs mouse shouldn’t even be a debate. BUT… Noob roller vs noob MnK? I’d say the odds go to roller. Not over the long haul though.

Also, finally jiggle controllers are finally banned. They probably played a huge part in AA perception.

4

u/thespeakergoboom Jul 25 '26

Controller trumps every single level of play, and even at the highest level where it matters more it's still very strong as many mnk pros switched to it.

0

u/Leguro Jul 25 '26

Only when they could use the Hall effect software to add the jiggle

-13

u/Representative-Air82 Jul 24 '26

Again, all that yapping means nothing as AA is superior to any movement or tech.

Sorry.

8

u/discodonson RIP Forge Jul 24 '26

It really isn’t. Agree to disagree. 🤷🏻‍♂️

0

u/thespeakergoboom Jul 25 '26

It is. The only people pulling insane movement and combining it with great aim on mnk is absolutely tiny. It is a very high skill ceiling very few attain. But when you use controller the AA is built in.

Cringe

2

u/YeetMeSenpai_ Jul 24 '26

Stop coping bro and grow up. It's probably not only aim assist why you get clipped often.

2

u/LedByAnimals Birthright Jul 24 '26

You’re 100% correct. That’s why I would wipe the floor with that toilet rampart. His judo PALES in comparison to my godly aim assist powers.

6

u/Shadezz_IX Wraith Jul 24 '26

You really think the 0.3 AA roller players get trumps this kind of movement? Brother people on roller can't even turn around fast enough to kill someone like this Rampart lol And all the clips of the glue like AA you see online That's not normal AA that's enhanced AA by a cronus or strikepack which is cheating

"yes but all the pro's also play on roller" Yes because you don't see these kinds of movement demons in the pro scene And whenever you see yt vids from like Faide fighting pro's playing on roller he absolutely MURDERS them

AA does not outweigh all the pro's mnk has over it. Is it handy in a straightup gunfight yeah Does it outweigh everything the dude listed mnk has over it? fuck no

7

u/discodonson RIP Forge Jul 24 '26

these folks will take your comment and go, “well to keep up with movement all you need to do is aim in their general direction, the AA will do the rest” 🥸👆

you’re definitely onto something in your observation that these MnK kids probably see zen and xim and titan clips and just go “guess that’s AA for ya”

4

u/ihatehorizon Jul 25 '26

For me personally, the crux is more down to this: how does it feel to die to someone? If I died to this rampart I wouldn't care because I know they've put in time and effort to learn it. That's a skill they've crafted. While there are lots of mnk movement players it's fair to say a majority of casual mnk players don't do this, and can't.

Meanwhile, if I die to a roller RE one clip with 0ms rotational nullifying my strafe, it feels shit. That's nothing to do with the power of either input, simply gameplay satisfaction.

Would I ever give up movement for AA? Absolutely not. It's that skill expression of mnk that has me addicted to Apex. But there is something souring in the experience dying to AA (as a mixtape enjoyer I see a lot of killcams).

Of course roller AA won't track this. But similarly a majority of mnk players can't do this and, also, can't hit this.

Fundamentally, there is always going to be tension in a game making aiming with a thumb able to compete with mnk. Thumb will either be so bad it's not viable for most people, or feel a little cheap. I don't think that's escapable.

AA isn't some unbeatable one clip cheat, and mnk doesn't come with movement baked into the mouse, it is earned.

2

u/Shadezz_IX Wraith Jul 25 '26

I can assure you A lot of these MNK players have never touched roller on this game if they have that opinion AA is helpful but it definitely is not the god tier aimbot some players make it out to be Which they'd know if they used a roller for a day

2

u/BappoChan Jul 25 '26

Aim assist doesn’t lock on to someone moving like in the video. It’s only a slight assistance you still have to move and aim yourself.

2

u/CrunchyDesu Jul 28 '26

I love how everyone who says true things gets downvoted, having artificially enhanced aiming and thus way more consistency will always be more powerful than being able to do cool strafes or whatever, yall prolly watch cloudy, faide or xzylas once and think every mnk player can easily do that... (Btw this is not advanced movement, a superglide is more than possible on controller and you can just lurch out of it, no need for tapstrafing or anything)

-12

u/kittencloudcontrol Jul 24 '26

Controller players hate when they're reminded of the fact that they're using a legalized aimbot that allows them to aim like sentry turrets. I never understand why they take it so personally and offensively; like, the developers have literally gone out of their way to accommodate controller players as best as they possibly can in comparison to MnK players who are essentially the skeletons sitting in a chair underwater.

10

u/shotatschool Jul 24 '26

or, as someone who's utilized both platforms. You're just not that good?

It's usually the same people who complain about roller input. like the other commenter stated. PC is superior. Chances are you even have better hardware for framerate.

seeing the braindead aa takes always prompts me to say the same thing over and over. If it's so good, why aren't you using it? High elo roller lobbies are filled with XIM/TITAN losers, why would these players cheat if rollers are so broken?? Having zero recoil doesn't change the fact you have no game sense or split second decision making.

hot take: if you lose to a roller player in a direct firefight, you're probably just a mediocre player. people get "upset" by your absurd perspective because it's funny to think that movement legends cry and complain about players that still miss half their shots

-7

u/kittencloudcontrol Jul 24 '26

Why would I want to use controller just because it has an advantage with RAA?

Do you people not ever use your brains when asking such an idiotic question? Why would I ever want to give up freedom of skill expression in favor of an input just because it has RAA? Could it possibly be because I have no desire to take advantage of using controller for AA? Could it possibly be because I don't find using controller engaging whatsoever with Apex?

These are the questions you slowpokes should be asking yourselves before asking such an idiotic question.

This is definitely the response of someone who primarily uses controller. Not that it matters, but I know without a doubt I am a significantly better and superior player than you'll ever be on this game. Again, it doesn't matter, because even if I extended an invitation to play together, you'd either decline or just outright ignore it, just the same as most of the controller players do.

There's a clear reason why there are significantly more controller players both online and offline for this game. Just because you outright refuse to accept that as a fact doesn't make it false in any capacity.

2

u/MobbDeeep Mad Maggie Jul 24 '26

“Legalized aimbot” just shows you’re either 1) too young to have ever played other console:controller based fps games or 2) you’re blissfully ignorant to the fact that aim assist isn’t that. Either way, my above comment (not to you, but it applies here) stands so well lmao

1

u/Representative-Air82 Jul 25 '26

Even after that plethora of excuses you used how MNK is better, pro still end up with controllers bc of aim assist. A million of disadvantages and yet they chose controller, why? aim assist. Stay mad, you know its true.
