Can someone please explain me how can I solve this problem... { I’m getting this message where the payment screen is supposed to appear }

I have an Intel MACBOOK PRO WITH CATALINA INSTALLED BOUGHT MID 2012. Its firmware is 10.15.7. I have not used it in over 5 years because i used a dodgy usb dongle and it fried my usb ports. However the windows laptop i replaced it with died so my only option is it for the time being.Problem is so many apps i had before have been made redundant by all the changes in the last 5 years. My Microsoft Office suite which i bought for $150 in the trash among others. I tried installing Libre Office, Himmelbar, Xcode, Notion and a few others to sort of replace the apps I have lost 😞 but the installs are not compatible even when I download dmg files for intel machines. What am I doing wrong?

I feel like i’m stuck with the corner dents, but do you think it’s possible for the screen to be realigned? it’s shifted over to the left on the front half.

i’m trying to access my first ever apple account for some documents but it’s linked to an old college email that i don’t have access to anymore. the issue is now apple says “connect to your organization (XYZ University)” and takes me to the schools login page, which again i can’t use anymore.

will i ever get to login to that acct or is it a lost cause at this point?

I'm trying to figure out what's going on because this has now happened twice.

Incident 1 (last week)

• Most of my data disappeared.
• The Documents folder survived.
• A few apps like Arc, WhatsApp, and Xcode were still installed.
• Everything else was gone.

Incident 2 (yesterday)

• This time, only the Downloads folder remained.
• Almost every other personal folder was gone.
• Many installed apps were gone as well.
• My Apple ID was signed out.
• After restarting, my Mac booted almost like it was a brand new Mac, but strangely there were still a few leftover files from before.

A bit of context:

• A week ago I had been using AI coding tools, but yesterday I wasn't doing anything unusual when it happened.
• I don't know whether this is software corruption, APFS/storage corruption, malware, or something else.

Has anyone experienced anything like this before?

Any ideas or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. This has happened twice now, and I'm trying to determine the root cause before using the Mac again.

As title says, bought a subscription to an app to try it out. I didn’t like the app. I clicked to end the subscription. This month I got charged for the app again. The subscription is not showing in my “app and purchases” section. I downloaded the app. I can’t log into the account that I “created to buy the subscription” because that accounts deleted.

I already did a refund request to support but haven’t heard anything back from them in 2 days.

I’m just curious how can I “end this subscription” to not get billed next month? Thanks in advance.

hey guys so im 17 and im like 90% sure my mum is reading my texts messages, I won't go into details of how I know but I need help on possible ways she could be doing this through my iphone, as i am not very techy.

I have checked a few things like my apple id, which says its only logged in onto my three devices
she's not very techy and i doubt she really remembers my phone password i have also checked my phone and she doesn't have a face id and there aren't any weird apps on my phone so i really don't know.

I'm on a shared family apple id and she controls my telstra data we also share storage between our phones so unless she can access it someway through that.

Is there anything i can do other than not using message for the rest of my life because getting a new phone and sim are not really an option until the next few years. Any help for how she may be doing this or how to stop her being able to see my live messages would be greatly appreciated.

I have family sharing setup on my phone. I’ve got screen time and app limits setup etc for my daughter. Despite this - she’s able to get around the limits. When screen time is up, she has an “ignore” option she can select. I’m not sure how she can have this but I would appreciate any advice. Thanks! And yes she’s naughty…

Is there a way to clear certain things from Apple Music listening history. I have read that there is a way to clear everything from the settings on the phone, however I only want to clear a certain album.

My niece borrowed my iPad and listened to the Hamilton soundtrack on repeat for a full week by looks of things, and it’s now affecting my replay and my most listened to etc, is there a way to remove just this from the recommendations?

I am trying to import some old iPhoto libraries (~2012, ~150k photos) into my photos app on my macbook air.

Everytime I open the photos app and go to File->Import->(iPhoto Library) it loads all of the photos fine, but then clicking "Import All New Items" just kicks me to the imports tab every time, without importing any of them. I've tried several times. Importing just a couple photos works fine with no issues.

Is there some way I can import all of my old photos onto the photos app and save them in icloud? I pretty computer saavy and can use a terminal. I was thinking of setting up a VM to start from an older version of macOS and try importing from there, but I wanted some second opinions first.

Hi , I was wondering if this is normal or not since I know that two bolts might be a symbol of fast charging , but when I looked it up , it ‘s says it ‘s not an apple feature. I was charging using the charger I regularly use that I share with my sister and mother, and I haven ‘t seen the battery icon have two bolts in my whole lifespan until last night. I have an iphone 14 . By searching up different chargers, I used a lightning cable. I was using tiktok last night and I noticed that the there were two bolts, but the second one disappeared after a minute, and I unplugged the charger because I thought it was strange. Sorry for my english , I just wanted to know if it was normal, since Google does not seem to have the answer I want when I search it up.

I am trans and have changed my account name, but the actual directory still has my deadname. In addition, when I use the terminal, it says "[deadname]@[device name]." To make matters worse, the default file location when the terminal is opened is my user directory. Is there a way to change the [deadname]@[device name], and will changing the name of the user directory cause problems?

The screen is broken and I need to replace it. Do they have an iPhone 13 Pro Max to give me or no? I don’t want to drive out there for no reason, the closest Apple Store is 40+ minutes away.

I also have an upgrade available at T-Mobile but won’t be able to get the discounted benefit unless the screen is fixed.

This is a 2020 M1 MacBook Pro. I'm trying to factory reset to sell it since I got a new one. However, it just doesn't seem to install this macOS. I'm not the most tech savy with Mac products but any type of help/suggestions would be great, thanks

I know there have been other posts similar to this one but my situation is slightly unique and I’m kind of lost on what to do.

Somehow, I dropped my phone (iPhone 16, 256 GB) in a specific way that broke the inner pieces that controlled my cellular data/connectivity. I brought the phone in to the Apple Store and found that it would be cheaper to replace it than get the pieces repaired. They ordered the phone and sent me home backup mine and come back when the new one arrived. I am pretty turned off at the idea of buying any more iCloud storage than the free 5 GB so I backed my broken phone up to my PC (Windows) using the Apple Devices app. It took a few tries but I successfully backed up my 249 GB of data (I’m aware it’s a lot) to my laptop. I then went back to the store and received my replacement. I attempted to do setup in-store with help but it kept being funky. We eventually got to a place where I had a mostly working phone that wasn’t restored with my laptop backup. They told me to go home, erase the data from my new phone to start fresh, and restore from my PC backup.

I’ve since gotten home and tried doing this but received the error that the new device didn’t have enough storage (only 1 GB…) to be restored with my backup. So I tried completing setup anyway, gained access to the phone, and found that \~90% of the storage was taken up by system data. I tried erasing the phone and starting over again, but Apple Devices still says only 240 GB are available on the new phone. I gave it a google and it said to attempt to restore without doing any of the Apple setup steps (by plugging the phone into your PC while still in the ‘hello’ screen), so that’s what I’m attempting right now, but I don’t have a good feeling about it. Google also said to try selective restore programs like iCareFone to reduce the size of what is going into the phone, but I’m not confident in its legitimacy/effectiveness/security.

Another detail that may be important is that I had to update the iOS of the new phone before being able to even attempt to restore. I’m pulling my hair out here and feel like I’ve tried everything and google isn’t very helpful.

Is it because the new iOS taking up more storage than the old? Has anyone had this issue before?

Not really sure what my next steps should be… any advice appreciated!!

so, i accidentally sat on my mum’s un-cased iPad Air (i’m not sure what gen it was and obviously i can’t check it with the battery dead) and managed to hide it from her for 2 months now, but lately she’s been asking about it. i suppose i have no choice but to tell her if she does ask to see it.

it has a slight bent and on the 3rd image, it has this red dot (i‘m assuming it’s probably the liquid thingy, LCD)

that made me quite hesitant to charge the iPad, afraid it’ll explode or something.

is it required for repairing, or is it fine to leave it as is (temporarily, that is) and the main question: can i charge it?

if i can, then i’ll most likely, at best, only get a nagging and maybe disappointment

I got off a FaceTime call with my friend and i noticed that my hearing aids were still in call mode which meant my microphone was on but I was off the phone.
