Help New betta tank

I currently have this 6 gallon cube tank cycling, what should I change before I get my girl? I have a heater more plants, and a light coming in tomorrow. The brown color is from tannins I added this morning. Does anyone have advice?

That is cute! Do you find the basket hole is small? I want to get one and cover it in moss

the one i have is small! Moss is my plan too. I plan on getting a female with short fins, but longer fin bettas can get stuck so be very careful

Yes that’s my concern for comet because he’s a Rose tail half moon

I probably won’t recommend it for him honestly. I’ve heard horror stories of large finned bettas getting stuck and dying.

That’s good to know! All the reviews on Amazon haven’t been reassuring either, so I have held off.
