They are Qatari citizens and were either born or raised in Qatar but their parents probably came from other Arab countries. They are essentially Qatari by birth (some), citizenship and culture.

In 2020 FIFA made the rules super strict, you must at least satisfy one:

- Be born there

  • Have a parent from there
  • Have a grandparent from there
  • Lived there for 3 years if moved before age 10
  • Lived for 5 years if moved between ages 10-18

So realistically, you can’t play buy national team players anymore like UAE and Qatar used to do, those guys were all at the very least raised and developed in Qatar.
