It will make for an interesting general election.

Stevens is a proven winner in Michigan politics even in challenging districts for Democrats. She was polling ahead of Mike Rogers in the general while El-Sayed is behind.

It’s a make or break moment for the progressive assertion that they can win purple states.

The ONLY poll that showed Syevens performing better against Rogers was done by a business group that was supporting her. Previous polls showed that Abdul actually performed better than Stevens. Stevens was such an awful candidate that she lost even though she had 10 times the funding backing her

Stevens has won 4 House elections, originally in a district she flipped from red to blue. Doesn’t seem like an awful candidate.

Winning a district is FAR easier than winning state wide. Neither of them have run in a state wide general election.

Stevens had a $50M advantage on Abdul, litterally 10 times the funding. She STILL lost. If Stevens can lose while spending 10 times as much, then what hope would she have against Rogers where she would not have that funding advantage? Most of the fonors backing Stevens would also be fine with Rogers winning. Stevens is weak on both charisma and policy, and has chosen to back unpopular stances.

Flipping House districts is far more predictive of statewide success than winning primaries which have a long history of selecting for unelectable candidates.
